If your grass is made from tissue paper, you might like this trimmer
I live in the Seattle, WA area and purchased this trimmer. I thought "Great, now I won't have to drag my cord around!" Unfortunately, I'm not sure what grass they tested this model on, because my grass just look at this trimmer and laughed at it. In fact, my grass brought all of it's grass friends over for a party - all of whom knew there was nothing this trimmer could do about it! I suppose it you are cutting some small grass around bushes, this would do just fine. But if you're doing any serious edge trimmer around the boarder of a lawn and you need it to really cut a line in the dirt - this trimmer isn't going to do it for you. By an electric "plug in" trimmer!

The power to deliver!

This trimmer from Craftsman C3 gets the yardwork done! I was surprised at the power and battery life. This has no trouble trimming grass and weeds and even can handle some of the thicker stuff you might not expect! Highly recommended, and the best part, CORDLESS! Pop in your battery and your ready to roll!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love not having to worry about oil and fuel

I purchased this trimmer because of one reason, battery operated. My old trimmer (that was past down to me from my father) required fuel and was hard to start. It was older and I needed something new. I saw this trimmer online at Sears.com and fell in love with it. I've only used it once so far but the experience was a lot easier and I finished trimming my yard a lot faster.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman trimmer/edger I bought this for my husband for Father's Day.

I tried this out myself + found it worked great. It's lightweight + handles easily. Since we don't have a big area to trim + edge, I could do the whole area without the battery needing another charge. It's very easy to convert from trimmer to edger. You do have to press a button with your thumb on one side of the handle + use the rest of your fingers to work it but it is not awkward.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent C3 battery tool

June 2014. New Jersey. Review for C3 String Trimmer and C3 Blower combo, with C3 Lithium Battery and charger. Executive Summary: If you have a C3 Lithium battery tools and a lawn, get this! Excellent trimmer, for light work. The blower works well, too... but don?t expect either of them to out-perform more heavy, expensive and complex gas or 110 volt AC powered tools. I bought the C3 String Trimmer and Leaf Blower combo with lithium battery CS1403 / 315.PP2025 and charger EA1337 / 315.CH2021 and am quite pleased. $90 on sale for all / half price. I already own two gas-powered string trimmers -- both inoperative after only one season due to the ethanol in our gasoline -- and a 110 volt corded electric trimmer and a 110 volt corded electric blower. The tools are light and fairly well built, the balance is good, and they are MUCH quieter than anything running on gas. Also a little quieter than corded electric tools. Not surprisingly, my 110 volt tools are stronger than the C3 String Trimmer and Blower, but hey, the C3s don?t require a cord! Grab and go, and put the battery on the charger when you?re done. C3 Lithium gives me about 1/2 hour of use without running down the battery (which would be very bad for the battery!) and the trimmer does a good job on grass, weeds, and small blueberry bushes. Woody stems will stop it, so don?t think it will replace a Brush Saw Blade on a gas-powered trimmer. In fact, since the C3 trimmer uses skinny blue .065 line and it?s self-feeding, you should invest $9.99 in a 300 foot package of #85609 ?6-bladed shape Commercial Grade? Trimmer line. The trimmer self-feeds pretty fast. I?ve run the trimmer about 2 hours, and the original spool is about half gone already. You can also buy loaded replacement spools, but the battery will limit you, not the spool capacity. Both tools are powerful enough to throw debris. Wear safety glasses. Don?t use C3 NiCad batteries for a high-draw tool like this. The lithium battery #CS1403 that came with this package does not have an indicator light, so listen to the machine and don?t run it down too far. I can go for about 20 minutes or maybe half an hour walking around and trimming small stuff. Carry spares to the job and recharge often. My spares #CS0842 have discharge lights and when they show red, I switch in another. The charger EA1337 is not as fast to recharge as my bigger Sears CS0842 Multi-Chemistry Lithium/Ni-Cad charger, but I don?t care. If it?s such a big job as to run down all my batteries, I should have gotten out the 110 volt trimmer and cords anyway. The C3 blower is also effective, as long as you don?t think it will blow away a big pile of wet leaves. It?s great to have handy in the garage to grab and sweep the floor or to blow off the driveway before company comes. Or throw it in the car with the string trimmer and a couple of batteries and go clean up your mother?s yard.

Don't expect to it to cut anything but grass and small weeds.

This c3 trimmer works pretty well if all you need is to do some light trimming/edging. I replaced the string with a more aggressive type. The string I choose was a hexagon shape as opposed to the round that the trimmer comes with. This seemed to help due to the sharper edges of the string. However the auto feed didn't like it as much. But then again the auto feed doesn't like anything. Which brings me to the worst part of the trimmer, the auto feed. OMG just let me bump it when I need more. I'm a big boy, I know when I need more string. Every time you let off the trigger, as it slows down, more string is feed out. Even if you don't need it. The excess is cut off so as not to hit the shield. That is just wasteful. The battery lasts long enough for me to trim an average size suburban home. If I trim and edge it will not last. But I don't usually edge very often.

Powerful Lightweight battery powered trimmer

My old generic battery powered trimmer died this summer. So I picked one up that fit my existing C3 set of batteries and tools. I was skeptical as to how its power would be, since my old generic one was ok in terms of that. I also got a high cap xcp battery to put it in. I tried it with the lithium battery that came with it, and it was significantly stronger/faster than my old trimmer ever was, then I put in an XCP, and wow, it was crazy. It felt as powerful as a gas trimmer, but with no fuss over maintaining the engine. This thing cut through everything in my yard. It lasts longer than I would expect with the XCP high cap battery, and its very light weight compared to other ones I've tried(mostly generic battery powered).

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Its a Craftsman

It's easy to use an does everything I need it to do. Not like some cheaper brands I've used that don't auto feed the string. or the battery doesn't last the whole job!

really great trimmer

This is the second one I've bought. I really work it hard. It is light and tough and I love the height and angle adjustments. String replacement is really easy too. I keep two extra batteries charged so I can trim my whole yard. I had a gas trimmer and hated it and couldn't deal with an electric cord...this is perfect!
