Product Description

The Craftsman 22 inch Self Propelled Mower Delivers a Good-Looking Lawn

The Craftsman 190cc Front Drive Self Propelled Mower delivers versatility and toughness with a value that might just have you thinking lawn care isn't so bad after all. With a 675 Gold Series Briggs & Stratton engine with 190cc's of power, there's no denying this Craftsman mower has the guts to cut down just about any length of grass in its path. No only is the engine potent, but it's easy to start, too, thanks to Ready Start™ and Smooth Start&trade. Ready Start is a system that eliminates the need for priming and choking the engine so all you have to do is pull, which is about 20 percent easier than on other lawn mowers thanks to Smooth Start. The mower pulls its own weight, too, as it cuts its way across your yard with a variable speed gear drive system on the front wheels so it moves at the speed you want it to move - effortlessly. There's no more need to lean into the handle with all your weight to mow up hills or through thick or wet grass which not only makes this Craftsman lawn mower more comfortable, but safer, too.

Even with all of those comfort features, this Craftsman 22 inch Self Propelled Mower gets the job done and done well. Four height positions on the 22 inch high performance deck help you get the ideal look and feel you want on your lawn. Not only do you get to choose how thick and luscious you want your grass, but how to dispose of it as well by bagging, mulching or discharging the clippings. The bagger door automatically stays open to make removing the bag even easier and simply closes with a squeeze of the control ball. Mulching delivers highly important nutrients back to your lawn without the cluttered look of leaving the clippings behind. With so many features on this versatile mower, the hardest thing you might do is put it away - and Craftsman even makes that easy thanks to its folding adjustable handle.

  • Featuring a 22-in. high-performance deck, the Craftsman 190cc Front Drive Self Propelled Mower offers excellent bagging, mulching or discharging
  • 675 Briggs & Stratton Gold Series 190cc* engine with Smooth Start (20% easier to pull); ReadyStart™** (no priming needed); and M.R.S.
  • Front drive, variable speed propelled drive system lets the mower do the work
  • EZ Bagging Access features a bagger door that stays open for easy bag removal
  • Dust-Blocker Grass Bag helps keep dirt away from user
  • Available in all 50 states
  • 2-year warranty protects your investment
  • Made in USA
  • *As rated by the engine manufacturer
**Starting Promise: Briggs & Stratton Corporation warrants to the original owner, that select 550ex Series™, 675ex Series™, 725ex Series™ and Professional Series™ engines equipped with ReadyStart™ will always start on the first or second pull or we will fix it for free.

Self-Propelled Mower
I am very pleased with this mower. I really needed a new one since my old one was not propelling very well any more. Nice to have a good machine to help with cutting down mowing time!

After 14 years, my Lawnboy needed replaced. I was going to buy another Lawnboy but saw this Craftsman mower on sale so I purchased it and took delivery the first week in August 2012. Big mistake. The first problem I noticed the first time I used it was a squealing sound when the self-propelled function was engaged. The mower functioned properly, it just squealed when in the self-propelled mode. The second problem with this mower is that after only 3.5 months of once a week use it doesn't start. When I bought this mower I also bought the recommended Sears lawnmower oil and fuel stabilizer and have taken very good care of this mower. So when it wouldn't start, I called Sears and told them the problems with this mower and I wanted to return it for a full refund. I was told that since it was over 30 days old I needed to find a way to get it to a Sears repair center to have it repaired. I was told this was Sears policy. My policy moving forward ... no more Sears products.

Don't buy . Sears doesn't stand by their product anymore

I bought this lawn mower 6 moths ago and have used 4 times and every time had problems with it. It had all kind of problems including leaking gas so I took it back to Sears and they wanted me to pay 45 bucks to send it somewhere so that they could tell me it it was a factory problem. ( There were more people at the store with similar problems ) . Sears lost another costumer

Working great so far!! after a couple easily solved mishaps

Was wondering about a Murray made mower after a couple incidents where I thought I should of read more reviews because it died on me, Found that the spark plug wire came off from a bump, that was easy. The second time grass this first season I cut was a little tall and height was set too low so it must have flooded, it had gas on spark plug and on filter I let it sit 10 to 20 min and it was going again , whew... Better price and features than all other major brands with the same engine. , Buddy said "should of bought a H^^^a" , in my opinion not worth the extra cost and the reviews on those are no better or even worse.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't buy it!

I just bought this mower on 4/29/2013. Took it out of the box yesterday, added the oil and went throughout the setup. It will not start. I pulled my arm off yanking on the cord. The motor just floods. Removed the plug too many times to dry it off, found that the choke is stuck on....poor design. This is going back, I want a mower that will start.

GARBAGE - Plain and Simple! (1 star because you can't select 0)

We have a small yard. So small we didn't really need this much of a mower, but it was on sale. Got it, brought it home, set it up and started on the yard. With less than half the yard done, the mower died. It would not start again. Looked online at negative reviews (something I should have done earlier. Number of people all reporting the same thing. Giving Sears and Craftsman the benefit of the doubt, I exchanged it for the same model, based on the fact that positive reviews outnumbered negative reviews. Got home, set it up, started it.... Immediately, oil started bleeding out of the engine, smoke billowing everywhere. By time the mower was shut off, it was covered in oil (some of it black!). People at Sears suggested that maybe it was bad oil (oil came with the mower), or bad gas (just got the gas). What is really sad is the engine is made by Briggs & Stratton, so you expect better quality. Lesson learned. Don?t buy from Sears.

Good

Bag smaller than old model - have to empty it more often. Self drive seems under powered. Ok up to half full bag then it bogs down - especially up a hill. Don't like new design of handle at base of mower. Used to be able to move handle up to be perpendicular to mower with push in release - now you have to undo bolts & large wing nuts to move handle up. Very inconvenient.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
