I bought this mower before the mowing season started, I did my comparisions with other brands and this was the one I bought. Still very happy even now that the mowing season is over. Here is a couple of things I really liked, The power, the electric start is very nice option, deck cleaning port plus its easy to change the height when needed.
I had my previous mower for 5 years and it was time to replace. I found this at the end of the season in wisconsin and got a great deal. What sold me is the construction of the rear wheels. They were flimsy on my previous model, but are quite solid on this one. Runs great, starts easy, a little more powerful.
I bought this mower 3/18/12. It has electric start and a pull rope but no primer bulb to prime it with fuel. The first couple of times I used the mower it performed fine, but if you let it sit for any period of time you will never get it to start. I've replaced the spark plug numerous times, had the carburetor cleaned, the carburetor replaced, and once again - it won't start. When I attempted to get the mower repaired under warranty I was told it was a fuel related problem and therefore wasn't covered. I use the fuel recommended by Craftsman and I always make sure to add stabilizer to the fuel. With no primer bulb it's just impossible to keep fuel flowing through the system and get the mower to start. I use the same fuel in my old Craftsman mower that has a primer bulb and pull start and it always starts on the 1st or 2nd pull. This mower is just a piece of junk. Unless you are a small engine mechanic and know how to clean/replace carburetors stay away from this mower. I looked on Consumer Reports and I'm pretty sure my next mower will be a Honda. They score nearly 20 points higher than Craftsman.

I bought this lawnmower no questions asked. Before this, I owned 2 other Craftsman lawnmowers. I did not take care of them, yet my 1st one lasted 12 years & my 2nd 10 years. They started on 1st or 2nd pull every time & cut my lawn nice. This 2011 version of the mower is JUNK! it's very flimsy feeling & now after only 2 1/2 seasons, IT WON'T START!!! I used to buy everything at Sears, no questions asked. Now all they sell is junk & their service sucks, also. Go with a Toro or Honda

easy to get ready to cut; does a good job with the bag or mulching (no leaves left behind.) good power and speed compared to the old style craftsman i was using. wish i had traded to a new one sooner.
It was easy to put together right out the box. However, I had trouble gettIing it to run by just turning key and when tried to pull cord I could not get it to started. I had to let it charge for about 48 hrs instead off the 24 hrs in instructions. When i did get it running mystery hand started to hurt. I agree that even with work gloves on holding down the bar for self propeller my hand began to hurt after 20 mins. I must say once it ran it did pretty well. I enjoyed how easily I was able to adjust the height. U just pull up and move it. My old mower was much more difficlt. I was able to get tgee pull cord to start mower but only when I can turn the key which doesnt make sence because I havent been able to use as a back when the key doesnt work. Bummer as it defeats the purpose of it being a back up if charge dies since I cant use mower till I charge it again and by then I can use key again????.
