Nice mower
I bought this mower before the mowing season started, I did my comparisions with other brands and this was the one I bought. Still very happy even now that the mowing season is over. Here is a couple of things I really liked, The power, the electric start is very nice option, deck cleaning port plus its easy to change the height when needed.

JUNK - DO NOT BUY
I bought this mower 3/18/12. It has electric start and a pull rope but no primer bulb to prime it with fuel. The first couple of times I used the mower it performed fine, but if you let it sit for any period of time you will never get it to start. I've replaced the spark plug numerous times, had the carburetor cleaned, the carburetor replaced, and once again - it won't start. When I attempted to get the mower repaired under warranty I was told it was a fuel related problem and therefore wasn't covered. I use the fuel recommended by Craftsman and I always make sure to add stabilizer to the fuel. With no primer bulb it's just impossible to keep fuel flowing through the system and get the mower to start. I use the same fuel in my old Craftsman mower that has a primer bulb and pull start and it always starts on the 1st or 2nd pull. This mower is just a piece of junk. Unless you are a small engine mechanic and know how to clean/replace carburetors stay away from this mower. I looked on Consumer Reports and I'm pretty sure my next mower will be a Honda. They score nearly 20 points higher than Craftsman.

Great mower....however...........

when i got this ( ordered online)i did not know it was electric start so BONUS!!!! its runs strong and cuts the **** out of everything in its path....TALL grass flows effortlessly into the bag...trust me if you are mowing "hay" use the bag the side chute is too small to pass large loads. now my issue. the carburetor has such a small jet letting it sit for more than a few days results in the jet gumming up and POOF no more running mower:( i think if the jet were slightly larger and this had a primer no issues would be had. as it is i have to take the carb apart EACH TIME i want to use this. and clean it out...an this is with GOOD gas....i'm dissapointed in this....OH its also quite heavy! sorry Sears but i cannot recommend this until the carb gumming issue gets fixed. Corporate please work with Briggs to get this fixed and issue a recall. many others have the same issue. great machine with a lame carb....

Overall
Easy to operate, powerful, mows great

Would recommend the handle be rounded, as it hurts the hands to hold bar and engage handle too. I will find something to pad ours.

Stay Away

Bought this mower, used it 5 or 6 times and it became very hard to start. If I cut the front lawn and then turned it off to go to back yard it wouldn't start or it just wouldn't start at all. I tried to warranty it but they mentioned it was most likely a fuel error and if the same fuel sits in it over 15 days it could cause issues. Fuel issues aren't covered by warranty and I would be out of pocket $100-$200 to work on it. If you google this model it seems to be a common issue with this model. I would stay away as there is a large selection of other mowers to buy and no use being one of the ones to end up with a lemon.

Once started, it's great

Could not get it started out of the box. Could not start manually or with the electric start. Frustrated! Called the help line. Said it could be something blocking the blade. Nope! The control bar cable had become disconnected. Not easy to see (maybe a mechanic would see it right away). The instructions and the schematics were not helpful. The mower starts and runs great. The only problem is the drive control lever needs to have a catch where you don't have to hold it continuously.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
worst mower ever

This is a terrible lawn mower. I have had this lawn mower less than 2 months. It bogs down and shuts off frequently, then won't restart until it cools down. The handle is to low, very uncomfortable to push. The Shape of the handle is poorly designed. I get bruises on my hands from pushing. The self propelled doesn't really work. The tires spin, but they don't grab and pull the mower forward. It is very difficult to maneuver around objects. Over all, the worst lawn mower I have used.

Overall
Way better than my previous mower.

I have a small lawn, but the ground is uneven and the grass is extremely thick. I bought a cheap mower in the spring and it worked me to death! Since purchasing this Craftsman, however, mowing my lawn has been a breeze. The push-button start feels like a luxury, and the easily adjustable wheels help a lot when it comes to wet lawns or overgrown, thick grass. 5 Stars!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
