      Nice mower
I bought this mower before the mowing season started, I did my comparisions with other brands and this was the one I bought. Still very happy even now that the mowing season is over. Here is a couple of things I really liked, The power, the electric start is very nice option, deck cleaning port plus its easy to change the height when needed.

      JUNK - DO NOT BUY
I bought this mower 3/18/12. It has electric start and a pull rope but no primer bulb to prime it with fuel. The first couple of times I used the mower it performed fine, but if you let it sit for any period of time you will never get it to start. I've replaced the spark plug numerous times, had the carburetor cleaned, the carburetor replaced, and once again - it won't start. When I attempted to get the mower repaired under warranty I was told it was a fuel related problem and therefore wasn't covered. I use the fuel recommended by Craftsman and I always make sure to add stabilizer to the fuel. With no primer bulb it's just impossible to keep fuel flowing through the system and get the mower to start. I use the same fuel in my old Craftsman mower that has a primer bulb and pull start and it always starts on the 1st or 2nd pull. This mower is just a piece of junk. Unless you are a small engine mechanic and know how to clean/replace carburetors stay away from this mower. I looked on Consumer Reports and I'm pretty sure my next mower will be a Honda. They score nearly 20 points higher than Craftsman.

      Excellent!

Bought one used and from day 1 it shows zero signs that it is used. Electric start is terrific and the charge lasts me for weeks at probably 10-15 uses per week. Self-propel function is great and actually makes it seem as if I'm not pushing anything at all. Only issue I have is that I HAVE to bag the grass because there is no option to just blow it out like a normal mower. That can be tedious but since I prefer no clippings I don't mind as much but at least having an option to not bag would be nice. Started to question why it had no primer bulb until I found that it starts with 1 pull every single time I use it, even the first start after winter with no additives or fuel preservatives. This machine is well built, performs terrifically on a daily basis and I wouldn't use any other for my needs.

      Waiting to Break or Quit

Bought this in August 2014. Out of the store and home, the height adjuster on right rear was bent. Took it back and waited for repair. The repair slip showed an outrageous amount that somebody somewhere must have paid- over $200 to replace the adjuster-not me. Got it home again and figured real quick that the side exhaust chute is a pain. Sticks out and makes it impossible to mow close to anything on that side. It also falls off VERY easily. I also agree with other reviews that mower doesn't like pulling itself in grass that is nowhere near too tall. Be ready to push. Self-start is nice, but I figure all those loosely hanging wires and a battery are just trouble waiting to happen. Another complaint: No cushioned handle and the trigger accelerator gets tiresome. Basically I am just just waiting for the next thing to go wrong. When that happens, Honda here I come.

      Very disappointed!

We have always bought Craftsman products and have been impressed with their durability. Unfortunately this product did not meet our expectations. We got this mower last summer and used it for the season with no problems. We stored it according to the guidelines in the owners manual. When we went to use it this spring it would not start. After taking it through all the trouble shooting tips and replacing spark plugs, draining fuel and adding recommended additives (2 trips to the store to talk to experts) we have had to take it in for repairs. This is not what we expect from a Craftsman product and are considering a trip to ********** or ***** for our next mower.

      pile of ****

I bought this mower because I work out of town a lot. the main reason was for the push button start so my wife wouldn't have to pull start it. We have had this mower for 2 years now and I am ready to junk it. First of all the bagger is way to small, that's even if the mower would fill the bag. We can usually only get half a bag before it starts blowing grass out of the underside of the mower. The other thing is when we mow the front yard and then take it out back the mower wont start. You have to let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then it will start back up. I I have changed spark plugs, air filters. basically everything that needs to be change on a regular basis. Craftsman use to be a good brand. That's what we have always bought. But I am done with this brand everything they make now days just turns to junk. Do not buy. waste of money.

      Great Mower

I was skeptical going to this from a tractor , but I am pleasantly surprised . It starts easily , handles well , and cuts grass with ease . Pretty quiet too . This mower NEVER bogs down , no matter the grass height . Its got the torque needed for large lawns . Never a problem starting . Front wheel drive is the way to go . The only complaint I have , is that the Self propel drive handle is hard on the hands to hold down , as it is so thin . But if you wear good gloves its not a problem . Also this mower is a bit heavy, so you need to use the drive . But I would definitely buy another one .

      Started every time

Ez to start, easy to empty grass catcher, heavier than most, got the large rear wheels but should have gotten rear wheel drive. Handle not comfortable. Bought some thin foam tool chest liner and wrapped handle. Much more comfortable. Have used it three times with zero issues. I do use "high test" gas, mechanic in the bottle and ethanol shield. Use these products in all my landscape tools, blower, trimmer, mower and tractor....( local power equipment dealer recommendation). so far so good.

Too much work is required with this front wheel drive. Mower deserves better

The front wheel drive on this mower might be ok if you are mowing a manicured golf course however it requires too much work to be a self propelled machine. The break you get when you have to let the hot engine cool before restarting is well deserved.

      Walk behind mower

This product works great. I bought it, went home and mowed the yard. Works great all I needed was oil and gas. The oil was provided. Have not used the bagger yet. I felt it was a reasonable price. Plus I used the push button start, and it started the first time.
