powerful lawn mower
love the power and the oversized rear wheels make turns easy! very pleased with the mulching in tall thick grass. Only suggestion is to either ease up on the tension of the self-propelled lever, or pad it, as it will bring on a hand cramp; costing one star from the rating.

JUNK, JUNK, JUNK
This mower is an example of why Sears is failing miserably as a company. The handle design is horrible. It is very thin and u comfortable. The tiny coat hanger sized engine engage bar will cut into your hands while mowing. The combination of the the bars designs will have you believing you have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome before the end of your first mow. Secondly, and most importantly is this hunk of junk quit working after 2 months. It will crank, run for 1 to 2 seconds then die. I have no desire to put this in the trunk of my 2012 car and haul it to Sears or any other repair shop. Let's face it, it's the principal of the matter. Almost $500 into it after tax and I couldn't even make it through 1 season. I never owned a Craftsman mower, but I wanted to buy American so that factored into my decision to purchase this mower. Well, I will be buying a Honda next.

Falling apart after 3 years

Like most of the reviews everywhere, u only get to hear about the product when its new. I wish you could get reviews a few years later to really get a good opinion. I've has Craftsman Lawnmowers in the past and they all only lasted about 3 years before they started to fall apart, loose power, drive transmissions wore out, etc, and this Lawn Mower is exactly the same. I am on my 3rd year with the Mower which was great the first year and now in its 3rd year, it has lost power, transmission slipping , etc, SOS ! ( yes I have replaced the belt and pulley already) There is another horrible quirk to this mower, and that is YOU CANT PULL IT BACKWARDS! If u try to backup , which I have to do quite a bit, the Safety guard protector at the back of the mower folds up under the mower! Very Frustrating! I had to rig it to get around this. I am going to try another brand this time around.

won't start

I purchased this in March 2012. Ran great at first. Then 1 1/2 months later wouldn't start. Brought back to Sears. They replaced it for free. Ran great rest of the mowing season. First mow of 2013 --- would not start. Cleaned spark plug & air filter. Still would not start. Brought to Sears service center. They sent it off for 10 days for repair. They had to replace the carburetor and charged me $12 for a new air filter and spark plug. They did say not to use gas with ethonal (alcohol) in it. Great price, but recommend to pay more for something more reliable and less hassle. Likely, won't go the Craftsman route again.

Worst yet

This mower is way too expensive for how it performs. Self-propel and cluth broke after less than one year use.

Design Flaw

Purchased this model 3 years ago. There is a black plastic cover that sits atop the bag. On each side there are plastic ends that fit inside a spring. The springs help the cover stay propped open when detaching the bag. Because of the torque of the springs, these plastic ends break prematurely. This is a design flaw in my opinion. The part is $30 and you can count on replacing every 2 years. Because i'm out of warranty sears wont help me. Not very happy with this purchase. I should have bought the Honda model.

easy use !

Easy to operate with the push button start and the 'forward' handle to make the mower move on it's own....also, i have a yard with a pool and with the bagger it keeps everything out of the pool.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
