powerful lawn mower
love the power and the oversized rear wheels make turns easy! very pleased with the mulching in tall thick grass. Only suggestion is to either ease up on the tension of the self-propelled lever, or pad it, as it will bring on a hand cramp; costing one star from the rating.

JUNK, JUNK, JUNK
This mower is an example of why Sears is failing miserably as a company. The handle design is horrible. It is very thin and u comfortable. The tiny coat hanger sized engine engage bar will cut into your hands while mowing. The combination of the the bars designs will have you believing you have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome before the end of your first mow. Secondly, and most importantly is this hunk of junk quit working after 2 months. It will crank, run for 1 to 2 seconds then die. I have no desire to put this in the trunk of my 2012 car and haul it to Sears or any other repair shop. Let's face it, it's the principal of the matter. Almost $500 into it after tax and I couldn't even make it through 1 season. I never owned a Craftsman mower, but I wanted to buy American so that factored into my decision to purchase this mower. Well, I will be buying a Honda next.

It's a workhorse

I got this to mow ~ 1 acre lot with lots of gardens etc. The front wheel drive makes it easy to tilt and pivot off the rear wheels and cut under trees/shrubs. The push button start makes this so product so easy to start that everyone in the house is taking turns mowing!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

New guy on the block

Granted, I've only had this mower a month. On the other hand, with a couple exceptions, I really like it. Now unlike some reviews, I don't 'love' it. Nor do I hate it for any of the reasons I've read so far. At 75, I've had a lot of makes and models. I live in Phoenix and mow 1/4 acre of St. Augustine on the average of every 5 days. It's also in 100 degree temps. As such, the biggest gripe I have is the extra weight. At over 90 lbs. it's a handful to wrestle around (my previous machine weighed in at 73). On the bright side, it's a great workout. I did read where one owner was having serious problems that, at nearly $500 bucks, should never have occurred. I'd guess that, since I only paid $413, the first problem was paying too much. I think it was the same person who complained about the handle design. I happen to agree. Unfortunately nearly all makes have the same or similar setup. Just a suggestion here: They have a new gadget on the market called "gloves". Worth a try**

Obsolete after 3 years

I have had the previous version of this mower for a little over three years. I have already replaced both back wheels at $30 each plus shipping. Now the throttle cable has broke. The replacement part and all substitutions are obsolete and no longer available. i cannot find it anywhere, therefore the mower is obsolete. You would think that Sears would continue to manufacture (or have access to) a part with a limited life longer than 3-4 years. I will never buy a Craftsman mower again.

Easy walk isn't so easy

I purchased this mower 5 days ago and have mowed my yard once, the variable speed easy walk self propelled feature was touted as an improvement over previous systems which is absolutely not true. It takes me about 40 minutes to mow my yard, I have to stop every 5 to 10 minutes and let my hand rest because it takes so much effort to grip the easy walk handle. The handle of the mower is also raw metal, there's no padding on anything so make sure your wearing gloves. I'm happy with everything else about the mower but this one simple thing is so uncomfortable to use I'm going to have to return it. Sears if you want to have a system like this make sure you run it through a few tests before mass producing it.

On my 4th one

I got the fist one a year ago and it worked grate that year. This year it would not run. Went in with it and they worked on it at told me it was fixed. When I went to pick it up they couldn't even stat it after there working on it. Now they gave me one off the floor and got it home and it didn't work. They then sent me to a different store to get another new one and it just started one time and now not working. Now they want me to come back in and get my fourth one. If it starts it works grate. But good luck on getting one that starts.

Love the product

I'm a big fan of Crafstman lawn mower. I had a 13 years old Crafstman mower and it's still working but it's time for me to upgrade. I tried it in a few weeks and I really love it. As long as I maintain it routinely, it will last for years.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

So far, so good

Recently replaced my 17 year old Craftsman mower with this one...if it is half as durable as my old one, I've gotten my money out of it. So far, so good, this mower runs at a lower rpm, which makes it quieter and produces less felt vibration. The electric start, which I was initially leery of, has worked like a charm thus far...still not sure how durable that system is, but the Briggs and Stratton has started first pull every time I've chosen manual start. Highly recommended mower
