A Great Lawn Mower
After 15 years, my old Craftsman has seen better days. I naturally went to Sears to buy a new one and decided on this particular model. Perhaps the best part is the engine which starts quickly and has plenty of power. My lawn look great! Very good product at a great price! I expect it to last for as many or more years!

sears does not stand behind Zero not an option
lawnmower worked the first time them began running erratic called sears. there solution was to bring it to them 150 miles round trip leave it and come back at a later time . they would rebuild the carb maybe at my cost. used 1 time I have to drive 300 plus mile and maybe pay for repairs. cheaper to buy another one somewhere else which I will do done with sears there washers are junk also.

bad product

Less than 2 months of use and on my way back in for a second warranty repair on this ... this is so disappointing, I thought sears products were better than this.

Buyer BEWARE!

Before the nightmare of owning this lawn mower, I had never cared enough to leave an online review of any product I had purchased. My experience with this mower has been so disappointing that I feel it is my duty not to let any person who performs a basic level of research fall into the trap of buying one of these Briggs & Stratton crapfactories-on-wheels. I had purchased this mower at the advice of my brother, and given my experience with Sears, which I have (had) always felt sold quality products. Normally I perform a level of research commensurate with the price of the product I intend to purchase, evaluate a few options, and make a decision. I cannot recall, before purchasing this lawnmower, a case in which I purchased a durable consumer good that did not meet at least basic functional expectations. Short review: stay the heck away from this mower! The interminable maintenance and inevitable malfunctions ARE NOT WORTH IT! There are at least a half dozen other push mowers (especially ones with Honda engines) at this price point that will last you five to ten years. As this and other reviews will attest, you'll be lucky to get 8 months out of this mower. Long review: I purchased this mower in August of last year and it began malfunctioning in December. I live in Texas, where you can mow lawns almost year-round, so I had been mowing my and other lawns roughly every two to three weeks through mid-November. Lo and behold, a month later when I am using it in what must have been the 6th or so time ever, it shuts off with no warning mid-mow. I figure, great, it's still under warranty. Call B&S and they tell me to take it to one of their authorized dealers. I live close to the geographic center of a metro area of almost 2 million people, and there are three authorized dealers: two roughly 25 miles away (in opposite directions), one 10 miles away. There's a backlog at all of them and the nearest one to me is not only lowly rated by customers but tells me I'd have to pay for the repairs and wait until B&S made a decision on whether to reimburse me for the repairs. I figure I would just take it to a highly-rated shop closer to me and wait three weeks for them to repair it instead. They change the oil, sharpen the blade, clean the carbs. Get the mower back and it shuts down within two mows. Take it back to the shop that fixed it (and who had guaranteed their work for 30 days), they fix it again and tell me there was more junk in the carbs. Mower works for about another two mows and breaks down again. Take it back to the shop, let the technicians look into my gas can to check for debris, see none, fix the mower again. This cycle has repeated two or three more times and now I am done with this mower. I will be putting it out for bulk pickup, as I cannot conceive of disliking another person enough to put him through the torture and misfortune of purchasing this PoS from me, or anyone else for that matter. DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER! Nuff said.

Overall
Mower is a great buy.

This mower was a great buy. It works great. It is easy to push and cuts the grass very even. Lawn looks great after cutting it. The only bad thing about this mower was that the gas cap was broken when we received our mower. This is a great buy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Takes a Beating!

This lawn mower has exceeded my expectations! We live in a rural, desert area and there are a TON of rocks, some of them about the size of a softball. We used the mower to mow our lawn, and then we mowed the millions of weeds in our field. There were rocks hiding among the weeds and the mower hit one of the large ones and it survived! The blade will need resharpening after that big hit, but the little motor didn't seem to notice the large stop. The blade did great at chopping the bunch grass, weeds, and Indian tobacco weed too. We were both impressed with its performance. For the price, this little guy can't be beat! We got it on sale. Totally worth it!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

So far so good.

I have researched this item and there were some negitive comments. I then also found negitives with so many other brands. So I came back to this model and order it. I have followed the sugestions of other reviewers and itstalled an inline fuel filter and taken out an extended warranty. I have used this mower for only two weeks but it has started on one pull right out of the box (after adding oil in the crankcase and fueling) and the same every since. I will up date you in the future if any problems arises. Thank you.

This is the second time I bought this same mower. It gave me 10 years.

When I started to look for a new mower I decided to purchase the same one I had used for 10 years. Since it gave me good service for that long I decided I might as well purchase the same one again.

Good push mower

I've used this type/style mower for years and like the large rear wheels. I would have given this a 5 star review, but the wheels on the mower are a little smaller and don't roll as well as the previous models I've had do.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
