Great mower for the price

Me & my wife purchased this pushmower this weekend for mowing our back yard and around the house where a lawn tractor cannot fit. My last mower was loaned out and was returned damaged beyond repair and we needed a new mower (this one will not be loaned out). I used my utility knife and cut the box open and grabbed the owner's manual and went through it, before I started assembling the mower. This was very easy to setup and took no tools to assemble. I filled the engine with the supplied oil that came with the mower. After the mower was assembled and oil and fresh gas was added, the next step was to set the mower height. Setting the mower deck height wss extremely easy to raise and lower the mower. After everything was completed, the mower cranked on the very first pull. The engine was running smooth and I went straight to mowing. The grass was kind of high and the engine handled the grass height with plenty of power and the engine never bogged down.. I shut the mower down several times to empty the mower bag and the mower restarted on the first pull on each additional start. I mowed around the front of the house as well and used the mower for a large part of the day and it operated very well for its inagural yard work. This mower was just right for my needs and so was the price range. I didn't need a fancy or high end pushmower. I did like the mower cleaning attatchment and just had to add my garden hose to clean the under-deck after I was done for the day.  The grass catcher is very easy to apply and remove and it is very easy to dump the bag. There is also a removable side discharge  to use when you are not needing the rear grass bag.

I am very pleased with my purchase so far and did put it to a solid work load test today and it handled everything that I threw at it. I will update my review after I put some more hours on the mower, but so far, I have no complaints for the price......

Used 3 or 4 times
I bought this mower in late May 2012. We had a dry summer and I used it 3 or 4 times. When I tried to use it this year it sputtered once and now will not fire. Contacted Sears about returning the mower and was basically told it had to be my fault. Contacted Craftsman and was told the same. They want to say it had to have old gas. I did drain the old gas and used new, but they do not want to stand by their product. Just to make sure I did clean the carb. Still will not even attempt to fire. Very disappointed with Craftsman. I have noticed others with the same issue. I just feel they should be able to stand by the product.

Great little machine

Easily put together. Starts immediately on first pull every time (if you follow directions and take up the slack in the cord first). Very light making it easy to handle. As with all machines built these days the bag is on the small size but is easily removed, dumped and reattached. Perfect for what I need: dog yard, pool area, and some smaller areas where my 60 inch Kubota deck does not allow me to go.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good value

I've had it for 4 seasons and I have a big lot to cut. Other than cleaning the carb out (3rd season) and replacing the self-propel cable (this season), it's been only standard maintenance. For the money, it's a very good mower.

Great Mower

I loved it from the first time I pulled the cord and it started right up. Their was very little effort on my part to pull it. Great for people who have shoulder pain as I do...The mower itself cuts great and with very little effort to push as the mower seems very light weight, again helps when you have to cut grass in a ditch like I do every time. I have used the mower about 12 times now and everything is going OK. The real test will come in the fall as I like to mulch my leaves and I've got a lot of those...Also I forgot to mention that the engine seems a lot quitter then my last mower not sure if that's because it's new or not but do enjoy this mower very much and would recommend it to anyone.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Mows well but blows grass all-over

This mower is easy to start and does a better than average job of mulching. However, the plastic front cowl is too short which causes grass to blow out of the front of the mower. While this is mildly annoying when mulching grass, it is very aggravating when mulching leaves. My 21-year old Craftsman did a better job; too bad the engine seized-up.

Craftsman 190cc* Briggs & Stratton Engine, Low-Wheel Rear Bag Push Mower

AMAZING mower! I have never had to purchase or basically maintain my lawn. I only know my dad swore by a Briggs and Stratton Engine! It was easy to assemble, some gas, some oil - one easy pull and she fired right up! The wheels are perfect for the uneven back yard that I have. Easy to adjust with the different terrain I have in the front yard. My older mower had to be filled 3 times to complete my lot. This mower only ONCE!! I have utilized the bag the last 3 times of mowing as the season changed and left A LOT of leaves. The power behind this mower picks up nicely and evenly. It is a lot of extra work, but that is only because I am lazy and never had a mower with the rear bag option. Only semi concern, is that the bag does not match up completely at the top of mower, and debris blows about more than I would like or like. I thought it would be a much cleaner process - and I am filthy when done. - I am actually going to see if there is a YouTube video on this mower to see if perhaps I have assembled something incorrectly, or possible rubber seal manufacture defect. And when all else fails, I KNOW - I can count on SEARS to help assist me to best resolve my queries. I love the features of this mower, even has a rust free cleaning deck. I can handle the weight and maneuverability- although I wished I would have spent more for the self propelled- just so my mom (who DOES NOT mow) can quit telling me how much nice it would have been!! After I figure out the bag to mower issue, I am extremely happy with this product, and would recommend it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
