Great mower for the price

Me & my wife purchased this pushmower this weekend for mowing our back yard and around the house where a lawn tractor cannot fit. My last mower was loaned out and was returned damaged beyond repair and we needed a new mower (this one will not be loaned out). I used my utility knife and cut the box open and grabbed the owner's manual and went through it, before I started assembling the mower. This was very easy to setup and took no tools to assemble. I filled the engine with the supplied oil that came with the mower. After the mower was assembled and oil and fresh gas was added, the next step was to set the mower height. Setting the mower deck height wss extremely easy to raise and lower the mower. After everything was completed, the mower cranked on the very first pull. The engine was running smooth and I went straight to mowing. The grass was kind of high and the engine handled the grass height with plenty of power and the engine never bogged down.. I shut the mower down several times to empty the mower bag and the mower restarted on the first pull on each additional start. I mowed around the front of the house as well and used the mower for a large part of the day and it operated very well for its inagural yard work. This mower was just right for my needs and so was the price range. I didn't need a fancy or high end pushmower. I did like the mower cleaning attatchment and just had to add my garden hose to clean the under-deck after I was done for the day.  The grass catcher is very easy to apply and remove and it is very easy to dump the bag. There is also a removable side discharge  to use when you are not needing the rear grass bag.

I am very pleased with my purchase so far and did put it to a solid work load test today and it handled everything that I threw at it. I will update my review after I put some more hours on the mower, but so far, I have no complaints for the price......

Used 3 or 4 times
I bought this mower in late May 2012. We had a dry summer and I used it 3 or 4 times. When I tried to use it this year it sputtered once and now will not fire. Contacted Sears about returning the mower and was basically told it had to be my fault. Contacted Craftsman and was told the same. They want to say it had to have old gas. I did drain the old gas and used new, but they do not want to stand by their product. Just to make sure I did clean the carb. Still will not even attempt to fire. Very disappointed with Craftsman. I have noticed others with the same issue. I just feel they should be able to stand by the product.

Worked great for a while...

Had no complaints at all. Easy to start and use. Purchased in July 2011. We have a very small lawn, only used half a dozen times or so and now it just will not start. Not happy, and it looks like the mower only has a life expectancy of 2-3 years... sad.

Off To Bad Start

To begin with, the handle must be pulled out and reset before you can pull the engine cord to set it onto the handle bar. But they don't tell you this! I had to call the 800 number provided in the book, which is the stated number to call for problems and questions. When you call, there is no menu option for product issues or questions. After holding 20 minutes they were still unable to find the correct people to talk to. I hung up and called the store. One would think they would put this step in the quick setup guide. Once I did this, I was unable to place the handle bolts through the holes and into the nuts without holding them and pounding on them with a hammer. This ruined the plastic surrounding the bolt. And ruined my finger and fingernail! I hope this isn't the beginning of more problems to come with this mower. If so, it's going back to Sears.

Little work horse

I am very pleased with my purchase so far and did put it to a solid work load test today and it handled everything that I threw at it. I will update my review after I put some more hours on the mower, but so far, I have no complaints for the price. I cut a acre with it in about 2hours and it started right up first pull every time . Now I'm going to take a BC and get some rest hehe!! Great mower so far!

Excellent Lawn Mower

Starts right up on first or second pull. Cuts very efficiently, good on gas. I like having a bag mulcher.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Dead

Got about two years out of this mower. It worked very well until today. Today it simply died. Two craftsmen mowers in four years. Once again, bumming out over a lawn mower. ****!

Great Mower for the Money!

This mower was easy to assemble with adequate directions. The only problem was that the rear bag was not included in the box. After a quick phone call to the local Sears store, I was assured that if I came back in, they would take one off of the display, which they did the next day. After assembly, the mower started on the first pull, and did a superb job of mulching leaves. I've used it two times since purchasing, and couldn't be more pleased!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

It would be nice if my mower would start.

I bought the mower last year and used it about 8 times (dry summer, not much growing in the yard). This summer, I used it about 3 times and then it decided it was done. It just won't start. Its still under warranty but now I have to load it up and wait for it to get fixed. Is it too much to ask for a mower that lasts more than 2 summers of light use? Perfect piece of garbage. Thank you Sears for a yard that looks like barf. This is the last time I buy a Craftsman mower.

Losing faith in Craftsman

I bought this mower in May of 2013. Used it for or 5 times worked great. I live in Texas and during the heat of the summer the grass dose not grow. I went a month without mowing and the mover would not start. I had fresh gas, and check the spark plug and the oil. Everything looked great, but it still would not start. Took it to sears to be fixed since it was still under warranty and the said 3-4 weeks to review and fix. Now I'm with out a mower for that time period. The same day I bought the mower I also bought a craftsman weed eater, that was also a mistake. I have never had issues with Craftsman in the past, but due my recent experiences. I'm losing faith in the brand.
