I am not the handiest of people, I must admit. Our dining room table has been looking horrible-crayon and marker stains all over, an iron fell on it, etc...So, I decided to try to sand it and stain it myself. Someone recommended a palm sander would help to make this job a cinch. I headed to Sears and purchased this Craftsman Palm Sander. My job was made so much easier b/c of this sander! I thought I was in for HOURS of work-was I wrong! It is light to handle, and just took care of my table in no time. I am excited to have finished this project! I can't wait to show everyone my "new" table.

This is my first orbital palm sander and I'm impressed by how light it is and easy to use. Changing sandpaper pads is a snap. Appears to be a good unit. Three concerns: First, the owner's manual assumes that the user is familiar with air tools because the diagram that shows where to manually add oil wouldn't help a novice at all. Second, the owner's manual gives no information on where the speed adjustment is or how to use it. Third, the speed adjustment was so tight that I thought that I would break the lever trying to get it to move. After lubricating, the speed adjustment lever moves, but with more force than should be needed.

I was working on my toyota last year and I needed a good palm sender. I knew where to go for it so I went to sears and purchased this sender. I am very proud that I bought it and it is still going strong. very light and durable. I love it.

This sander worked great for the first year, then just after the warranty period the sanding disk fell out of the sander base. Unfortunately I did not have the extended warranty. I still use the sander today I just have to put the **** back into the sander when it falls out. Operation wise everything still works and I will continue to use it until it stops completly and most likely I will buy another one plus the warranty.

too bad they dont tell you that it needs a min of 90 psi and the 6n gal compresser that claims to be 150 psi cant maintain that 150 psi for longer than a nano second. Gerr

So far its been a good tool. As with others i've seen the speed adjustment is very touchy. The sander is very loud, there is minimal packing in the muffler. My shopmates quickly reccomended a piece of sponge in the exhaust to quiet it down.

This is a great sander. Had no problem handling the hard maple tabletop that I made. The only down side is that it kicks on my air compressor non-stop and the sandpaper with holes is hard to find in a 6" size. I bought a 5" delta pad to put in place of the 6". Sander works great!
