This tractor replaced a Craftsman tractor XL12 I bought in 1988. That mower still runs well but was starting to smoke, Original tires, no dry rot and extremely reliable The XL12 is going to a new home for some motor work and has been replaced by the new one. The new one after using it for the first time was excellent; the power, mowing and the way the attached bagger worked. I looked at all the other brands and this one was definitely the best value. Looking forward to another 26 years of great service.
I PURCHASED A 19HP TURN TIGHT HYDROSTATIC TRACTOR. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT SO FAR. THE DECK WASH I HAVE FOUND IS NICE ,BUT YOU NEED TO DO IT EVERY TIME YOU MOW TO KEEP YOUR DECK CLEAN. I HAD A SEARS LT1000 42'' CUT FOR 10 YEARS. GOT VERY GOOD SERVICE OUT OF IT. STILL RUNS GREAT. JUST WANTED TO UP GRADE.SO FAR THE ONLY THING A HAVE FOUND IS THE REVERSE IS NOT AS STRONG AS I WOULD LIKE. YOU HAVE TO UP THE RPMS TO GET IT TO BACK UO ON A GRADE. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS A SUPER MOWER

I don't know if I'll be keeping this riding lawn mower cause I still can return in 30 days. Here are my reasons why I am indecisive on this rider: The fit and finish on this rider is terrible. The key switch is a little too loose, there is a golf ball size dent in the hood, and some other body part don't line up right. I don't like the transmission and somebody else notice it picks up speed going downhill, well they aren't kidding it does pick up speed on a slight grade downhill. The mowing deck was not set up right at all and I had to spend two hours leveling and setting the anti scalp wheels. I expected better from Sears on this lawn mower with setup. I should add I had to adjust all the tire pressures as well and I checked all the nuts and fasteners I could see and reach. The frame flexes a little too much for my liking on rough or uneven ground and I believe this will be an issue later on. Possible frame cracks and failure? The deck wash system is awful, it leaks from the connection and doesn't clean the deck well at all. I will try to mow another lawn with the mower and see how the transmission performs on a 15% slope and then I will decide on whether it's a keeper or a return. Something tells me it's going back though and because of this feeling I can not recommend this to a friend.
I bought this mower last Fall for my 2.5 acre lawn. At first it ran fine but I've had nothing but trouble since. First, it suddenly died on me and would not turn over. I couldn't see anything wrong (not a mechanic) so we called customer service. TWO WEEKS LATER the tech came out and replaced a 30 amp fuse behind in the right rear wheel well. A fuse? Why couldn't they tell me that over the phone? That same fuse has gone at THREE TIMES since. Then, the drive belt came off within a couple months of purchase. They want you to spend $500 for an extended warranty (just 1/3 of the cost of the whole machine), but I didn't realize I'd be having so many problems so soon. Now the warranty is out. When it runs, it is a good mower. But I've been pushing it around the yard too much to ever recommend it. Very disappointed in Craftsman; may not buy another one ever again.
Very easy to operate, love the turn tight feature, and I live the hydrostatic driving, only wish this model would have had the 48" cut instead of the 42", and the exhaust could use tone a little quitter, other than that it's a great lawn tractor.
Lawnmower received good review from Consumer Reports. So far, we are very pleased with its performance. Salesman was knowledgeable about the mower and very helpful. Delivery was right on time. Very pleased overall.
Just got my 42 inch 19 hp turn tight tractor, tractor is great does not vibrate much it's a tractor (not a car)so it will a little ,turn tight is good 2 bagger great ,also ordered the bumper I'm ready for the grass and the fall leaves.mowed 1/2 acre front yard done in 15 min. so don't buy in to the bad reviews you have 30 days to return but I'm keeping mine.
