3 out of box bad tranny!!! 1st one lasted 1mowing tanny out.. 2nd one lasted 3 mowing's tranny out.. 3rd one delivered today I got in the truck checked the hydro in truck same thing CAN'T move hydro shifter on the fender. Told the guy's take it back it only gets worse. The tranny housing is made of plastic not cast metal. To push manually (when you put into over ride)can hear the gears just grinding like there dry, as if they forgot to put fluid in it. Can't go extra slow forward or reverse. Very jerky have to HOLD hydro shift lever to go forward or backwards. Forward it has 1 speed where you can let go otherwise goes back to where it wants to be. NO ONE at Sears can tell me who makes there transmission. Waiting for pick up on 2nd mower and FULL REFUND. We own 2 other Craftsman hydro fender shift mower's thought we'd semi retire the 29 yr old one but runs to good 3 yr old runs just as good. So much for new ones... Get the only tranny maker back Sears. Once you lose a customer its hard to get them back.....
I was finally in the market for a new mower. I did internet research, online reviews, went to dealerships and sat on some. I found for my size of yard and needs that this tractor would satify all of them. The 6" turn radius was the real seller for me. The transaction didn't go great initially for me as when the place that preps the tractors received it the transmission didn't work. I got Sears to compensate me for this delay. I ordered it with the bagger as well. The bagger is a bust in my book. The discharge tube does not seat well into the rear housing, the attachment points to the mower deck are difficult to get to, the bins are flimsy and don't hold that much. The tractor is louder than I thought it would be being it's new. It mowed unlevel out of the box, but I adjusted that and mows great now. I would like more height adjustments for the deck, but can live with what's there. Do like the mow in reverse option by just turning the key back and that it starts everytime. My previous tractor didn't do that. I do think the side hydrostat arm could be moved slightly as well as your clothing can get caught on it if you exit at that side. Hope this helps someone out there.
I recently received this mower and I only used it once. It was a tough purchase considering there are very few positive reviews on this particular model. I started out looking at the T2200 which has the 42" deck, but for $150 more you can get the T2400 which has the 46" deck and covers for the top of the deck. Not sure people notice that small detail. I sat down and did some research about the CVT transmission and no moving parts like hydrostatic. More research found more and more people complaining about too much vibration in the T2400 because of the Briggs & Stratton engine. This is my first riding lawn mower so I can't tell you how a D110 ********** rids or a Cub Cadet LT1045 feels. What I can tell you is the push mower I was using "vibrated" because I'm pushing over uneven dirt, so yes something even that close to the ground bounced around a bit, why wouldn't a big riding lawn mower? The mower arrived, Sears team fired it up (with the gasoline I provided) and yes white smoke blew out. Its the first time this thing fired up so give it a break. Not even 3 minutes later the white smoke stopped and it ran perfectly fine. P.S. I ordered the front bumper and mulch kit both of which were attached at delivery, not after. I cut the grass just fine with no problems. Here are my two cents: -It has a sensory in the seat to cut off the engine if you fall off or stand up -they don't want you mowing in reverse, if you try to go in reverse with the blades engaged and the key is not in the ROS position the engine will cut off -if you don't press on the E brake and hold it while you pull the (P) tab you won't be able to start the mower -if the blades are engaged you won't be able to start the mower -the seat is comfortable, enjoy the high back -yes the mulch plug isn't the greatest but it's a very small thing for the amount of grass that does wedge itself between the plug and the deck -there are only 5 cut heights, ********** and cub cadet have 10, I personal don't have a problem with this because my front yard is not for competitions -the throttle as a pro, if you like mobile suit animes and jet fighters this is for you. The more you push forward the faster you go, note it is very sensitive which mean there is a learning curve. I like it and prefer this over the pedal -the throttle as a con, you had a previous mower with a pedal and you are used to having both hands on the steering wheel at all times. Again this does not affect me personally -The turn tight is awesome, but even just using it one time on my first riding mower I would try this going quickly. Slow down when drifting 6 inches in this thing -Vibrations, its a single piston so its going to vibrate a little, but the one I have is miles away from what people has written about too much vibrations A real reason not to buy this mower? It's the only one that uses this transmission while even much more expensive craftsman mowers still use hydrostatic transmissions. Why I have no clue.
Stay away from this mower, it lasted 6 days and the transmission went. I got to use it twice, the first time it sputtered and blew white smoke out the exhaust as it stalled. The second use I got 3/4 of my lawn cut when it just stopped. 2 days later the sears repairmen told me the transmission was bad , I told sears I want a different mower and not this model, I am waiting for Sears to resolve the issue and replace this mower.....stayed tuned!!
This machine is sleek and boasts all the power needed for my 2acre lot. The Kohler engine has tons of power. It took 6 weeks for this to ship to Hawaii and you can imagine what my grass must have looked like. This mower took down the 9" grass with no problem. Turns on a dime, feels really well built. I'm excited to have this new machine and it appears to be as well built as my 1978 ********** STX28!! Good Job Sears!

I did my research and it appeared this mower was right up there with Husqvarna and Cub Cadet. However, I was poorly mislead. This tractor is very large, cumbersome, and doesn't turn as tight as my Cub Cadet. In addition, upon my 2nd mow the lawnmower blew white smoke from the engine and stalled. It also tops out at 3 MPH not 5.

I like the size, 46" deck. Has the power to handle the large area I mow. Like the tight turn and the ease of deck and speed control system. I owned a Poulan prior to this and it was always breaking down, and spent almost as much time in the shop as at my house. Like the ease of operation and adjustment.
