In my years of installing locks and deadbolts this is the most called for size of hole saw. Ninety percent of handsets use a 2 1/8 inch hole and the only variance is deadbolts using 1 1/2 inch holes. The Craftsman 2 1/8 inch bi-metal is a quick cutting hole saw whether used on wood or metal doors. I have a boring kit (no pun) that clamps on the edge of the door for boring the latch hole as well as the handset hole and keep a mandrel set with each size of 2 1/8 for lockset and 7/8 inch for the latch. This hole saw mounts quickly and firmly into the mandrel as required and when put to the task is a quick boring saw. Metal and other materials can quickly dull a cutter but on wood is stays sharp and cuts a long time. I strictly working metal buy them in quantity as needed. I have never had one collapse into itself or distory attesting to durability.
