Upon pick up , looked ok but did not realize it was missing the connecting arms where the long arms connect. Took back to sears the next day ( over 30 min away ) and exchanged. NO re imbursement for mileage or my time !

Decent gear puller at a good price, but I was shocked that the product is not assembled! It arrived as a bunch of parts in a blister pack which came open during transit. Luckily, the plastic shipping envelope contained the loose parts. Also, the right-angle grips (shown at the bottom of the product picture) are much thicker than they appear in the picture. There wasn't enough room for them under the bearing that was to be removed.

The belt tightening mechanism came apart on my garden tiller. I had to remove a mid-sized pulley to put it back together. I tried using a hammer and pry bar for 40 minutes. I finally went to Sears and got this device and the pulley was off in 5 minutes.

The Craftsman 2 Jaw Large Gear Puller is for larger duty jobs. Forged steel arms, reversable grips, fine thread bolt all make this puller to ge tthe job done. As a matter of fact, it might pull too well. You will have to make sure that whatever you are trying to pull, that you don't over pull and bend or damage your workpiece. I got ths puller to help with frozen or damaged bearings on shafts, pulling generators apart, gearbox spindles, auto axles, yard equipment axles, large and damaged flywheels, just to name a few things that I have used this puller on. I have other pullers of diferent sizes in my shop, but this may be the one that sees the most action. I have a couple of neighbors that come to borrow my puller and I tell them that Sears has one on the shelf for them with their name on it. I dont loan my tools, especially ones like this puller that will most likely not find its way back home. This is a nice puller and it has seen a lot of action in my shop and still looks like brand new, still. Tough as nails and saves me a lot of work.

Just saw this and wondered why more info is not given? I have this tool so I'll share. It has a 6 1/2 inch maximum reach. 8 inch maximum spread. A fine pitch screw thread. Grip tightens as pull is increased. Forged steel arms reverse for inside or outside gripping. Heat treated for strength and durability. All this is written on the tools reusable bag. All in all a big help when needed. Too small for my brake drum though so I'm now looking for a larger one to compliment this one. If you share with friends I wouldn't tell them you have this. Too easy for a hack to strip-up the threads on you. Take care of it and you'll have it for a life-time. I hope this was helpful, Harry
