I bought this jack thinking I was getting a quality tool from Craftsman, but after about three or four uses in two years it puked the oil seals. It sits in my shop leaking oil continually now and I have little to no real lift power. It will make a great boat anchor for the $180...I might need to buy a cheaper one I can rebuild instead of throwing away.
You just got to love Craftsman!!!! Good American brand, great quality. Lifts my SUV easily, that's why I went with the two ton. Rolls nice and easy, lighter than the all steel jacks. Thank you Sears.

I bought this jack over a year, used maybe 4 times and since the first one it was licking a little bit. know it doesn't lift at all, I went to sears and they do not repair it. so I have a huge pice of trash. I thought this jack will last. Buy something else!
I purchased an earlier version of this jack a few years ago, item number 950239, a 4000 pound capacity aluminum jack. It remained in its original box until a few months ago, when I finally used it - it's still in new condition. I used it ONCE, and after a few lifts, it failed to lift any more. I tried bleeding it (its oil reservoir is full), but it no longer works. You can decide for yourself if you want to spend your money on equipment like this. I can't be too critical of Sears; I bought tires there with which I am entirely happy, including the quality and price, but some of their products leave something to be desired. The appearance and finish of my jack is extremely nice, it just doesn't work. I'm hoping that maybe the overload valve is stuck, and a cleaning will fix the problem, but Sears doesn't even provide an exploded detailed parts diagram to help, so I'm on my own. I think Sears' official stand is that the jack can't be repaired, but that's what tools are for.
One wheel fell off in the first week due to a bent e-clip. I bought an e-clip and reinstalled it. The clips I bought at the hardware store are standard, and much thicker than those originally installed on the jack. Started leaking 6 months after I had it, now a bit over a year and it will no longer lift, AND there are no repair parts available other than the "Power Unit" for $225. A $225 fix for a $180 jack? Time to stop buying craftsman. Find another jack, don't waste your money on one that is not serviceable.
Nice looking tool. Easy to move and maneuver, only used a few times but works very well. The only thing noted, is not as light weight as I thought it would be, but better than all steel jack
