Not as advertised
The description on-line clearly states that the saw is powered by a 1/3 hp motor. It is not; the motor is only 1/4 hp. The saw appears to be well-designed and assembled, but the cast aluminum table is warped. It is not flat from side-to-side. Blade tracking is good; easily adjustable as are the blade guides.

Effective but ended up returning it

Used it for one night of cutting wood for my wife's projects and the next day when I turned it on the motor was exhibiting a bad knocking sound. I ended up returning it the next day after showing the Sears employee a video recording of it. While it was cutting it was effective overall, however when I took it back I traded up for the 10" Band Saw (21400) which frankly is a far better saw that allows me to make much tighter more precise cuts than this one is capable of doing. This one has pins that keep the blade stable on the left and right side and rollers in the back. It works but in the process of cutting you'll see occasional sparking as the blade makes contact w/the guide pins. Overall I would say this is what it is.. a cheap but effective bandsaw but there are much better ones on the market. Consider the 10" one instead.

Easy to use

For the average woodworker, this is a great saw. It doesn't take up much space, and comes nearly assembled (just have to put on the table), including the blade already installed. I pulled it out of the box, put the table top on, and began using.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

keeps on cutting

I have has this saw for 4 months. I have had no problems. My blade has not broke. Take your time cutting and you wont break blades, I have cut 4x4 2x4 and more. I have had no problems. let the machine do the work don't force it to fast. Motor is 1/4 hp. It has never stop or slowed down during a cut. If you bend a blade .im sure it would break but wouldn't all of them. Its a small machine for doing small work. if you want to force it then buy a table saw. Good saw

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice for small home work shop.

Nice small workshop saw. Cuts nice with the blade that comes with it. Needs to be bolted down or it will wall away from you light weight. So not really portable. Very quit operation.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Hobby perfection

I have had my band saw for about a month and have had no problems. I've used it to cut almost 400 feet of mostly hard wood. It could use more power, but with the correct blades for the job and it will do just fine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
