Good product for the money!!!
I decided to upgrade my old Craftsman 4-gallon compressor for a bigger one. I seen the price of this 20-gallon one and was kinda hesitant at first to buy it. I loved my smaller one so I decided to buy. This compressor is absolutely wonderful! For the typical do-it-your selfer/wood-worker hobbiest, this air compressor has kept up with all that I threw at it. I can run a air sander or an impact wrench and not have it cycle on and off constantly like my old 4-gal one. I am very pleased with it. That and it's oil-less so one less thing to worry about. The only complaint I have (and why I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars) is that it is very loud when it runs. I mean LOUD! If you care about noise, like in a basement workshop, I would not recommend this. But for the money, it's great.

DO NOT BUY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
Purchased from ************, Pauls Valley, OK in the Father's Day Sale of 2013, and left in box while the new shop was being finished out. Finally opened it up in January, 2014, and started it up. Filled up alright, but when it shut off, it was hissing air out. I poured soapy water over the fittings, and found three leaks. Because I had purchased the unit more than 30 days earlier, Ace wouldn't do anything about it, except to advise that many Craftsman units have loose fittings, and the clerk suggested I tighten all the fittings up. I checked the warranty online, and the warranty is good for 90 days - I missed that deadline too - so I did tighten the fittings. It didn't work. I took the fittings out, and applied thread tape. It helped. Now you can only hear the air leaking out if you move the hose between the regulator and the coupling. However, the soapy water test shows the same three leaks are present. These leaks are, the hose where it meets the brass coupling from the regulator, the brass fitting itself, and the main tube from the tank to the regulator. The thing simply won't hold air. Further, the regulator housing is also broken, but this doesn't affect the running of the machine. I had previously purchased a Craftsman chainsaw that was basically ****, but reasoned that anyone/product can have a bad day, so didn't worry too much. This heap of junk is the last Craftsman ANY thing I will ever be stupid enough to spend money on. If you do purchase it, and it works - Hey, I'm happy for you. If you purchase it and it doesn't work... I won't say I'm surprised.

Awful

Nothing but problems. Purchased this compressor in 2011, died on second use. Figured it was a dud, exchanged it in for a new one. This one lasted a few months before having issues. Two years now of taking it back and forth to repair, still overheats and shuts down regularly. Now the insides have melted and hoses are beyond repair.

WOW, Another Bad Review

Too bad most of the negative reviews were written after I bought this, otherwise I might not have bought mine. After two years of ownership and maybe 15-20 light duty uses, it no longer works. It still looks brand new because I keep all my tools in immaculate condition and dust free- so I don't understand why this broke in such a short period of time. Read reviews of all the affordable, non-"professional" air compressors from Sears- they are all terrible! you shouldn't have to spend a thousand dollars just to get a product that doesn't break.

Good working compressor

I was able to pick this up on sale and i have had it work very well for me. I read all the reviews on here and I have to admit at first I was afraid to buy it because of all the bad reviews. But it turns out I got one heck of a deal with a good warranty to back it up because the item is discontinued. Looking at this compressor you might think that 3.8scfm is not alot (which I did at first) but I have come to find out that this compressor can handle all my tools when I am working on my jeep. It also is able to break nuts/ bolts lose on my jeep that I wouldn't have thought it could with a 3.8 scfm rating- which really surprised me. The compressor started up fine with no issues at all. The time that it took to fill the tank was very fast and had to recharge very few times while I would use it. It also has worked very well in the cold because my garage is not heated. Overall good working compressor with a great name to back it up.

Great air compressor

Works great. Fills relatively fast and is so easy to move around. I have toted it to several locations even through the snow and it rolls super nice.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not good for air tools

This is a good home compressor but do not expect it to do much more than blowing off parts or moving dust.
