Normally I am not a big fan of plastic toolboxes. Let's just say that I have had more that my share of dissappointments from them. I wanted a box to store some tools in for my 5th Wheel RV. Weight is always a consideration when you are packing an RV for a trip, and my old Dodge is a lot like me (getting old).
The biggest problems I have encountered in the past with plastic toolboxes are:
1. The lid always seems to warp under the weight of the tools making it difficult to close the box.
2. The handles don't last.
3. The latches are flimsey allowing unintended openings.
The price on this unit captured my attention though. At $12.99 I thought I could afford to give it a try.
Wow, was I surprized! The molded box has a very heavy-weight tub and lid which so far haven't deformed under the weight of my travel tool kit. The latches are much stronger than normal too.
If you are in the market for an inexpensive toolbox, I don't think you'll be dissappointed with this Craftsman.
I was using it more than two years at work. I always was concern about the geometry of the black plastic handle, because it looked a little deformed on one side. Recently, after loading it with some additional small tools, the handle failed. I took it to the Sears store to get a surprise that there is no warranty. I through it way at the store.
I don't recommend this type of tool storage box to a serious mechanic. Instead, use metallic boxes.

It is well made, the right size and not too heavy. I purchased it for a graduation present & filled it with 10 items useful for a dorm room. I put in a hammer, screwdriver, tape measure, stapler, duct tape, scissor, scotch tape and 3 more misc items which I can't remember right now. I had seen my sister give one of these to my nephew and thought it would be a very useful gift. It has been for others in the past. The box was on sale for 50% off so the price was right also.

Inexpensive plastic tool box. Works good for what I had in mind. I keep my light tools and related stuff in it. I don't think it would be suitable for heavy tools. The hinge looks weak. If you want to use this for light duty, then this is the right tool box for you. The price is right.

I have 5 of these (various sizes) that I've had for years. Yeah, they are plastic and can't take too much weight. If you are going to fill it full of sockets and wrenches, then buy a metal box. Since this is a generic tool box, it would be nice if Sears put a 3" x 5" Label holder in the front.

this is a good quality of hand tool box, large volume, durable and easy to use. I would recommend to the people who look for tool box for the medium duty stuff.
