Craftsman 20oz rip hammer is a quality hammer.

I have been a proffessional carpenter for 24 years and have used this hammer for all of them. It is a well ballanced hammer with a large face for accurate nailing. The steel shaft is great for those times you are setting steel forms or building scaffolding systems and over strike your target, no chance of splentering or breaking of the handle.

I have replaced my craftsman 20oz rip hammer 4 times over the years, 2 of them were covered under the unconditional warranty that comes with this hammer, the other 2 times were due to loss, one in the bottom of a cooling tower and the other was lost in the bottom of a powerhouse boiler. Each time I lost my hammer I looked at other hammers but found my self going back to my old stand by, the Craftsman.

I must add that this hammer is made in the U.S.A. and that it is priced lower than other brand hammers made in other countrys in its size and class.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not Perfect, Still Good

There are definitely better hammers out there, but there aren't hammers that look this good. However this hammer may be a little heavy because of the handle, however I'd recommend the craftsman 18 oz just fine. The hammer itself may be stainless steel but it DOES rust. Maybe because I used it for heavy foundation work, but still, it rusted. =( Also, it's somewhat sharp towards the nail puller area. I cut myself sometimes while it's in my tool belt.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
