I bought this Tiller to rework my Garden Laws. Was initially impressed as it was a step up from the small Honda tiller I had previously borrow. However it the LH tine broke after around 25 hours tilling over 4 months. Another tine broke after about another hour use.
At this point I brought the tiller back into Sears where I had to pay $39 diagnostic fee even though it was under warranty and clearly a design flaw. I told them there appears to be a quality issue with the welds on the tine and to please replace them all.
Well I finally got the tiller back yesterday after over 3 weeks and they replaced only the two broken tines. I asked the manager if I was going to go though this ordeal again if another breaks and he said this is just the way it is.
So finally I was glad to get back into this and finish my tilling so I can resow my lawn. Well one hour in I have just had another tine break (This time on the right). There goes another 3 weeks without my tiller just when I need to get this finished.
So unimpressed with the quality and service from Sears and Craftsman. I had orgianlly picked this over competitors product because I was expecting better service from Sears. You live and learn.
Buyer Beware!!!

No catch or holder for the depth bar. If this had a clip to hold the depth bar it would be easier to move from place to place. Because the depth bar cannot be lifted out of the way, you are forced to pull the tiller backwards to move to storage.

I bought this last year(2012) and used 3 times no problems. Got it out this year and it won't even try to crank.Bought extended warranty and called for service and it will be May 23rd, to late to plant anything! what good is that! really not happy!!

I am very impressed with this rototiller. Very easy to put together, quality construction. Started on 2nd pull. Does a fantastic job of tilling, even in rocky soil. I highly recomend this front tine tiller.

I decided to extend my garden this year, so I needed a larger tiller. I purchased this tiller, put it together, tilled the old garden in 10 minutes and doubled the size in less than 15. The area was around 15 ft by 15 ft. There were some rocks that it just pulled up hardly any bounce. My soil is pretty good. Only hit clay about a 8 inches down, but again, hardly any bounce. I would highly recommend this tiller.

I have had three weeks of gardening fun thanks to my new toy! A tool, really, not a toy. This beast has the power to cut through grass and roots (3/4" or smaller) with ease. It starts every time, is fairly easy to handle, and does a thorough job. One small drawback, the dinky wheels set on a tripod mount are not really adequate for this large tiller, the tiller has a tendency to lean to one side or the other. Once you get used to this (or replace the tiny wheels with slightly larger wheels as I did) the tiller is a big help around the garden. WARNING: in theory a tiller makes gardening easier, but in practice it just makes you more ambitious!

This equipment is used by my husband who indicated the tiller is great except he can't use it in reverse.

Bought this to replace a smaller tiller. I like it, starts easy, runs good, tills good. It is just a little bit bigger than I wanted.
