I bought this Tiller to rework my Garden Laws. Was initially impressed as it was a step up from the small Honda tiller I had previously borrow. However it the LH tine broke after around 25 hours tilling over 4 months. Another tine broke after about another hour use.
At this point I brought the tiller back into Sears where I had to pay $39 diagnostic fee even though it was under warranty and clearly a design flaw. I told them there appears to be a quality issue with the welds on the tine and to please replace them all.
Well I finally got the tiller back yesterday after over 3 weeks and they replaced only the two broken tines. I asked the manager if I was going to go though this ordeal again if another breaks and he said this is just the way it is.
So finally I was glad to get back into this and finish my tilling so I can resow my lawn. Well one hour in I have just had another tine break (This time on the right). There goes another 3 weeks without my tiller just when I need to get this finished.
So unimpressed with the quality and service from Sears and Craftsman. I had orgianlly picked this over competitors product because I was expecting better service from Sears. You live and learn.
I bought this rototiller to do a very tough job that I had to do. Rototill up a driveway that had not been used in a while but was filled with shale and compacted dirt. Thought it was going to be a tough job. It wasn't using this monster tiller. Did the job easily and if it did that job with ease just think what it will do to a normal garden plot. Buy it . . . you will not be disappointed. I certainly am not!
We got this tiller for our 20x40 garden. It works great breaking up new ground, but is very slow when set on the deepest setting, it took us about 3 hours to get the garden tilled. On medium setting it is much faster. Did a great job. Have to watch out for any bigger rocks - it makes the tiller jump and the handles can hit you if you are standing too close. Overall, very satisfied.

Very pleased with the product. Craftsman products are always well built and this was no exception. I had never used a tiller before, so was a little hesitant, but it was easy to start and really easy to use.

My friend wanted to borrow my Craftsman Rear Tine Tiller - not about to happen. We got this model, it was a snap to assemble. A bit ignorant starting it the first time. I put about an ounce of Two Stroke Oil in the first tank since the Engine is new. Once it started it was all business and my friend drank Beer while I tilled his yard. It was a little more tiring than my Rear Tine Tiller. But it tore through the Caliche easily with several passes. Every restart was one or two pulls. I still prefer mine but this is just as good.

Purchased this in high hopes, the price was unbeatable. I have never purchased a Craftsman product that I wasn't happy with until the past two years. Opened the box, started to assemble the tiller but the handle did not line up with the chassis. I put it right back in the box and took it back. Maybe I'll start a garden next year.
