quality hedge shears

These Craftsman shears work wonders when you need to trim bushes in your yard. I was able to do the work in about half the time because they are sharp, require less pressure, and are rather lightweight. The blades are 8 inches long and extremely sharp (which is what you want). The handle grips are comfortable and keep a good grip when pruning or trimming.

The arm stoppers on this unit are plastic so I question their durability long-term, but with the Craftsman lifetime warranty that is a non-issue. Everything else is metal and should last.

Poor quality. How can Sears sell such garbage?

I am cleaning up the backyard of a house I once rented. I got tired of borrowing the shears my dad has been using for like 30 years. I drove to Sears for new shears.

I saw the "Craftsman" name and thought "These are the shears to buy."

After one weekend of use the blades have bent and now no longer make full contact. These shears are useless. I will now go back to using my dad's American-made 30 year-old shears.

Its really sad, but it seems the Craftsman label my dad new and that I knew as a kid is NOT THE SAME. Why must companies like Sears sell low quality junk from China? Why can't we manufacture quality tools in the USA like we once did?

Price was great considering

For a Craftsman tool I thought the price was great and so I purchased. I can't get the cheap brand at the dollar store for this price so I was happy with that. I haven't had a chance to use them but they seem very durable and if it lives up to the name I will be happy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The cutting part is short and it rusts easy.

Not sure why they rusted, bcos it is not like i soaked it in water. It works tho.

Work fine for me.

I use this to prune the bushes down the driveway, no problem, and I like the tightening adjuster. Blades are of good quality too.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Dumbing Down of the Great Craftsman Brand

I ordered the Craftsman Headge Shears during a Deal of the Day special last month. These are NOT Craftsman quality shears. They do not even match the item photo and do not have the few listed features! including the noted wavy edge blade or the telescoping handles! This item is Made in Taiwan. The current product does not include any of the better quality Craftsman features depicted in what must be a very old item photo. The red tubular steel handles are now only covered at the very ends in a thick but non-cushioning black polyethylene plastic rather than a more comfortable and shock absorbing neoprene type foam used on more expensive shears and yard tools. The hand tension adjustment at the pivot point is gone and replaced by a locknut! For some reason, a single strand of steel wire is protruding from the lock washer on mine. It sticks out just enough to cause a serious finger, hand, or forearm cut when taking it out of the clear vinyl blade cover. The plastic snap on this cover does not have a simple tab on it to easily pull it open! The two blades are seriously bowed and one can see quite a bit of daylight between them when viewed from the side. Since the two cutting edges are not flush, the cuts will not be smooth and even. Why are Sears executives on a path to ruin the excellent quality and long term reliability of Craftsman branded products??? We prefer them to be made in the USA and do not not mind paying a few dollars more if a real quality and long lasting product is delevered. Please Sears, return to your old Craftsman values for all of us dedicated Sears and Craftsman users.
