Great for the Money!!!
I use this sander to make Knives. It's outstanding to profile my Handmade Custom Knives. Maybe could use a little more power, but for the price, it can't be beat!! Would buy another if something was to happen to this one!!

It has potential, but...
I think this would be a good sander if you're lucky enough to get one that is serviceable. I have bought two in the last few days, the first one was returned due to missing parts and the second could not be fully assembled because the holes for mounting the work table for the disc would not align to be able to attach the table. I did get a chance to turn it on and it seemed to work well but never was able to use it to write a review better than this. Quality control in the factory is apparently lacking.

Works as it should

Runs as it should, having a hard time finding replacement belts in my area, 1x42/2x42 are not as common as I thought.

SANDER

After a few mths of having it, the sander seems to work fine. At least it is smaller then my old belt sander, now i got more room to work on my bench.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

2x42 Belt Sander

Got the sander to start making knives. Opened the box and inspected, disc sander table had a bent screw. Replaced with my own. Other than that it will do what I need it to do. The 1/3 HP motor is really worthless and it runs fast. You have to use a light touch to keep from burning metal you are working on, not even going to try sanding any wood. Also very easy to stall.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good personal sander

I'm used to larger more industrial sanders but this unit works well - it's just smaller. Unit was packaged well, minimal assembly, and it's very solid. I have the Craftsman universal tool stand I was hoping to mount this on but it's not a good fit. I'll have to mount plywood to the stand and this sander to the plywood. I picked this unit over others since it's basically a grinder with sanding attachments. This is a good home use tool. I've had it a week and used it a dozen times already. Does best on small items, but with the guards removed you can sneak in a long board here & there as well.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good versatile sander

Setup was a little unclear, but I figured it out. Had to make adjustments so belt tracked properly. Have used it a couple of times and does what I expected. Good compliment to my old Sears Craftman bench grinder. Belt changing is easy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very effective sander

This sander is probably the most used tool in my workshop. More than enough power for the average sanding job. Very user friendly. My only small complaint is that it takes some patients to get the table perfectly square to the belt. You have to really hold the table in place when tightening it down or else it will move slightly off square.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

good sander limited belt availability

I've had this sander for several years with no problems. The only downside is the belts are not a standard length.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 21513 1/3 hp Electric Belt/Disc Sander (21513)

I've had one of these for quite a while now and seem to use it for everything from knife sharpening to styling knife handles to grinding tasks and it works on everything I throw at it. I keep 3 different belt grits handy and I can change the belts in less than a minute, and then I keep the disc equipped with an extra fine sanding disc most of the time for fine finish work.

This machine is great, but watch what you're doing, or you may end up with too much in the dust bin and not enough left on your part... that is how good it is.

You can use left over 1" belts if you have them...

Great overall machine that should give you years of fine service just like mine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
