      Seems like a great mower
I am 55 years old and owned a lot of mowers, this seems to be one of the coolest I have ever owned. First, I shopped all around for a month then decided the MyStride was the main reason to buy this mower and I was right. Took it out of the box, added oil and gas, started on the first easy pull. Started it 5 or 6 move times and everyone in the family had fun walking (not pushing it) around the yard! I would give it 5 stars but one of the hubcaps fell off almost immediately, I was able to secure it correctly to the wheel, but that should not have happened.

      AVOID THIS MOWER
Mower seemed great at first, then the problems began. First after about 4 uses, screws worked loose on transmission housing that held drive pulley so no self- propell. Fixed that with screws found in toolbox and used loctite. Been working for 3 months now. Now control cable snapped while using and engine stopped. Ordered new cable for $28. Warranty would have fixed these problems if willing to wait 3-4 weeks for each problem. Worst mower I ever owned. Poor build quality!

      Poor design

First lawn mower I have ever purchased that does not come with a primer bulb. Takes about 20 pulls to get it started. Going straight is fantastic. Turning is a fight. Oh, it requires gas without ethanol (can?t use E85 gas)... You know how many places have gas without ethanol. I have to drive almost 25 miles. What is worse, it?s not on my way to anywhere. I made a bad choice

      Better than I expected!

This is my first self-propelled mower, but with nothing to compare to it has exceeded my expectations. Started on the second pull, which in itself is vastly superior to my old, no-name mower. I've read various reviews of self-propelled either being too fast or too slow, but this is great because the speed is variable. A little touch makes it go, push more to go faster. It takes some getting used to because it genuinely requires no effort to make it move. And as soon as you let off, it stops. I've read that backing up with a self-propelled mower can be problematic, but not this guy. As soon as you've left off the throttle the drive disengages and you can pull it back. Turning took a little while to get used to, but mostly because I'm so used to pushing the entire time rather than walking behind and guiding. My first run on this mower was on my steep, terraced yard (some inclines are as much as 60 degrees). I did not use the bagger feature and left the side chute off in order to test the mulching capabilities. I initially set the deck very high because I was working in grass I had given up on mowing months ago because the slopes are so steep. Grass was upwards of 10 inches long and trampled down because of recent rains. I set the deck high to start with and made several passes, lower the deck each time. No problems whatsoever. Only in the really long and damp grass did it begin to struggle a bit, but I was certainly pushing it out of it's element. On the two occasions that it did clog and stall, it started back up with no trouble. The big wheels do make it difficult to get really close, but that's a minor inconvenience given the positives so far. Honestly, my only complaint was that the big plastic piece at the top of the handlebars that says "Craftsman MyStride" kept popping off on one side, and even then it just snapped back on. Since it doesn't interfere with the operation of the mower, it's not worth complaining about. Overall, this mower exceeded my expectations by tackling wet, overgrown areas with ease. I no longer dread mowing my exhaustingly steep and hilly yard!

      Stay away from this mower!

Worst lawn mower I've ever owned, Control cable broke within the first 4 months, will hardly pull itself if the grass is very deep, and does a bad job of cutting grass cleanly. It just seams to tear the grass like the blade is really dull even though this is a new mower.

      Nice Mower

My first new mower in 12 years, what a difference a decade makes. Easy to assemble, much lighter easy to start and quieter. Yes, the My Stride takes some getting used to and it's a little tricky on hills, but I can live with that. We'll see how it holds up from a durability perspective.

      Awesome

Just got mine, easy set up, just adjust the handle and assemble the grass catcher, fill it with oil and gas and you are on your way. I have a average size lot with full St, Augustine grass. I do not bag my clipping and was concern about the mulching ability. It handled the 4 inch grass blades without any problems. The performance was outstanding. The walk behind accelerator was easy to get use to after a few a laps. If your are considering a lawn mover? This one has all the bells and whistles with the exception of a key start at a great price.

      Great Mower

After reading the reviews decided on this model. My lawn has a gentle slope. Works great going up hill, has plenty of power in tall grass using the exhaust shout. Mulches well in the shorter grass. The rear wheel drive and large wheels make mowing a breeze.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Just got it yesterday

The "My Stride" function was nearly impossible to control when I first tried out this mower. The problem is that there is no resistance on the speed control bar when you go forward, so it jerks & stops, over & over. I fixed the problem by using a bungee cord attached to the pull-start bracket, running under the bottom handle and attached to the red speed control handle. Gives good resistance to pushing forward, and does not hinder stopping.
