High maintenance wear items, good only for small driverway :(

This machine is good, so long as you keep the high wear items fresh. BTW - Those wear items are on backorder and at this rate of consumption will effectively cause almost a complete re-purchase on an annualized basis. Bummer... Please learn from my mistake. If you have a long driveway as I do (150') do not bother with a toy. Spend a grand up front for a decent 2 stage that will not eat paddles and scrapers every 3-4 weeks like this one does.

One use and the next year waiting for carburetor rebuild

Unfortunately this snow thrower has an issue with carburetor. I bought it brand new, After one use and treated with sta-bil gas stabilizer it did not start the next year. I been told that it need a new carburetor. After researching on this forum, I found the same issue with others. You have to drain the tank and run dry the carburetor after each use.

new carburetor after three uses?

Purchased three months ago. Heavy as all get out, but worked like a champ with more torque power than my old 2-cycle unit. But after three uses, with a new gas can and new unleaded (not ethanol) fuel), it wouldn't start. Took it to Sears repair center. A week later got a call that carburetor required REPLACEMENT because it was "clogged with stale fuel". It would not be in warranty, cost to repair $114.73. Called service center and since it was so new, I was offered to remove the labor and pay only $49.74 just for the part. I asked how to avoid this problem in the future. Was told I should run fuel out of the product after every use, use fuel less than 30 days old, fuel stabilizer doesn't tend to work, and the problem is largely because of additives to gasoline sold by gas stations. Seriously? I have to buy "the right kind of gas" and in any case run it empty after every use and anticipate if it will snow in the next 30 days or else dump my 30+ day old gas?

Good Performer for the price,

This snowblower 4 cycle engine is it's strong point. It has excellent power and starts easily whether you go electric or Manual start. It thrown great if snow is powder but not so good in wet or heavy snow. I broke the belt attacking heavy wet snow, but to my surprise belt replacement was very easy. Do the maintenance and drain the gas after the snow season. It's a good product overall.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Snow Blower!

I have to admit, online this unit does not look like much but looks can be deceiving! As you all know we had Storm Nemo and the blower did not let me down. 12 inches plus of snow was easily cleared away. Make sure you follow the instructions and you will never have a problem with the unit. DO NOT Leave this outside in the cold after blowing. Good luck!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This snowblower is the worst piece of equipment I've owned

I bought this snowblower late last season, used it 3 times and winterized it properly. This year when I tried to use it the first time it wouldn't start, took it in for service and it had a bad carburetor already. The repair place said the ring on the carburetor had corroded (after 3 uses!) and that this has been common with this model. After replacing the carburetor and using 2 more times in this year the auger stopped engaging. I'm done with this machine and won't be buying Craftsman snowblowers again in the future. The hassle and cost associated with repairs more than offset the lower upfront prices compared to competitive models. I would strongly suggest looking for a different model or brand.

New snow blower

I finally decided to get rid of my old two stroke smokey toro. This one is smoother quieter and not at all smokey. The electric start is handy for my wife. Even though it is an easy pull start.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Snowblower

Great Snowblower! Gave my husband this snowblower for Christmas and he LOVES it! It was easy to assemble and handles wonderfully. The price for the Craftsman was a great deal and have already highly recommend it to my friends and family.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Into Sears for repair...again

This is my 5th snowblower, and my worse.  First time I have had to take any snowblower in for repeat repairs.  This seems to have thin metal at the opening throat.  The scraper bar is held on by only three bolts.  While using this, snow gets between the scraper bar and the metal mounting area.  It bends the scraper bar down causing very tough pushing the blower.  The metal has bent adding to the problem.  In addition to the scraper blade problem, the kill switch assembly has come out and the carburator needed to be replaced (likely stored fuel problem).  The really big issue for me this time is that Sears has it for 4-1/2 weeks for the repairs.  This for a customer with the extended warranty.  Next snowblower will be MTD, not Craftsman.
