21" 208cc* Single Stage Electric Start Snowblower Moves More Snow Faster
The Craftsman 21" 208cc* single stage electric start snowblower make removing snow so much easier so you can get out of the cold faster. It has a 208cc 4-cycle OHV engine that provides more power, longer life, and improved fuel economy. There is no need to mix gas and oil with this snowblower. It features an easy to operate electric push button start that fires up the snowblower in cold temperatures.
The 21" 208cc* single stage electric start snowblower clears a path 21-inches wide, and the 13-inch intake height lets you clear more snow every time you pass by. This snowblower is ideal for small to medium paved driveways, sidewalks and decks. The snow claw auger technology reduces clogs and throws snow further. It has a two-way remote joystick chute control and the chute rotates 190 degrees. Auger controlled forward speed with ground engaging auger paddles makes maneuvering the snowblower easy.

I selected this blower because of the expected power, which is good. However, in my two years of ownership it has experienced major failures both seasons and required repairs. The first time I used it, it ran for 15 minutes and the engine died and would not re-start. I found an extra engine bolt in the driveway. Back to Sears for warranty repairs. This past season, the bolt that connects the auger control to the engine broke off in the block resulting in significant labor costs and three weeks of downtime. For comparable money, I suggest purchasing a larger more robust unit.

I needed a snow blower that was smaller due to both limited storage space and because my driveway is only slightly wider than one car. I bought this in November 2012 and did not need it at all that winter. Winter 2014 and now 2015 I have used it about 8 total times. This thing has cleared the snow quite well every time - everything from light and fluffy to dense packed, to ice covered snow. I have not had any issues with the directional stick. I change the direction of the shoot frequently while using it and it still works flawlessly. The only negative was that it took about 6 pulls to get it to start for the first snowfall this winter. The second snowfall only took one pull. I would highly recommend this to anyone that does not have the space for a larger two-stage machine.

Got it home, unboxed it and there was a crack in the top cover, the headlight did not work, and after the first season of use the belt was slipping, the paddles felt like they were way to tight against the shoot, and a bolt that holds the side to the shoot was missing. I tried to perform the first scheduled oil change and the plug was in so tight that I had to wreck the plug to get it out. Took it in for warranty repair and somehow ended up costing me $150 for stuff that they said was not covered? Now the light works some times, and it just seemed like the paddles still had some issue. I took the bearing cover off of the side opposite of the belt and the bearing spacer was missing! I don't know if this was from the factory or the service person. Another thing I hate is that I don't have a local Sears repair facility so it has to get shipped out and takes forever to get work done. If I could do it all over again I would buy the Cub Cadet version of this macing from my local dealer to get more personal service.
The quality of the snow blower is superior to other snow blowers I have looked at before purchasing a Craftsman. The features and available extended warranty make this unit a very exceptional value. I look forward to many years of trouble free use out of this fine product.
I am lucky to buy one of the remaining 'single stage' snowblowers. I have a large driveway for which I contract for major snow removal. This single stage product is perfect for my needs for lighter snows and clean-up. It has a more powerful motor than its competitors and has the 'joy stick' for instantaneous direction control. Add to that, electric start and you have a winner!
Purchased online dec. 2013 for pending snow storm. I used it 3 times then had to shovel during the rest of winter. This single stage is belt driven. It was doing great until the belt snapped and destroyed the plastic belt wheel. Sears tech was GOOD and replaced the broken parts. This happened 3 times. Everytime i used it the belt snapped. I kid you not. Save your money and go double stage. Avoid the belt driven thing at all cost.
This is just the right size to a good job, yet small enough for easy use and storage. This replaced a Lawn boy 20inch/3hp blower that I had for 15 years. It was becoming hard to prime and start. Went looking for a new one yesterday and found this. Didn't realize blowers this size had electric starts. Received 5 inches of snow overnight and this cleared a two car drive, a good portion of our cul-de-sac and a large deck in about 30 minutes. It takes my neighbors much longer, dealing with the larger 2-stage blowers. The fact that it uses straight gas and not a gas oil/mixture is a big plus too. Very satisfied.
I purchased this blower right before the big storm hit Jersey a couple of weeks ago. I'm a contractor and I expect good performance from my tools. This blower worked beyond my expectations. It has good power and throws snow further away than I had thought. It started up easily with no need of the electric starter. I tested the electric starter and it started on the first push of a button. I noticed many people had issues with the joystick chute controller but I didn't. I have used it about 5 times already since the big snow storm and it worked flawleslly every time. This little guy performed just as well as some of my neighbors' dual stage blowers. I recommend to anyone with a normal size driveway and home. Bigger driveways I recommend going with a dual stage blower. Seems silly for the head light to be on at all times. I'll put an "on/off switch for it. Has a lot of good features for a single stage. I'd recommend it.
