OK so I read the reviews before I bought this for my Husqvarna mower that I bought at Sears last season.  The factory blade (worthless POS) was dinged all to hell after just a season and a half.  Even when it was new I never thought much of it.   Anyway, I bought this blade with mixed expectations and I have been pleasantly surprised.  This thing cut my grass after two weeks of rain and about 5 inches of growth - like it was nothing.  My old blade would bog my mower down and I would have to put the side discharge attachment on it.  Not this thing.  This thing shredded through my lawn like it wasn't nothing, barely bringing my mower down.  The sound this thing makes is awesome and the weight actually makes the mower run smoother.   I have not had any problems with clogs as another reviewer wrote, and this thing mulches the grass up pretty small so i haven't had any problems with clumping in the yard.  The only thing I will say is do yourself a favor when you first get this and take some high grit sandpaper and wear the paint out on this thing first.  It comes with a thick coat of paint and took me about 3 cuts to get the paint worn off enough to show the sharpness of the edge.

I bought this blade because I wanted to start mulching my lawn instead of bagging the clippings. The problem is the teeth gets glogged up with grass, I have to stop the mower turn it over and remove the clumps stuck in the teeth. Comparison test.

Like another reviewer from 2011 I bought this blade because it says it a replacement for 180459. It's not an equivalent. Center hole is too small and outer holes are too close to the center hole and 1mm too small in diameter.

Blade was easy to change and then really aided in neat mowing of the lawn.

I am in my 3rd year with this blade, it works great. I can definitely see a difference between this blade and a standard blade. I have sharpened it at least once per season, and it still cuts great. These blades cost a little more, but i think it's well worth it, especially if you like to mulch your clippings.

My mower at Craftsman 37779 with a Honda motor requires blade 180459 which is extremely difficult to find as its originally made by Husqavarna. This blade was listed as a replacement for the 180459, however the holes don't line-up. The center hole is not large enough and the outer holes are approx. 3/4" too close. Perhaps there's an adapter I'm supposed to have but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. The blade seems to be a good quality piece but it simply won't fit the mower.

I have been using this for over a year and have decided I have had enough. It does a good job on mulching, but I usually have a line of grass standing...forcing me to cut twice. I tried narrowing the path...cutting in 10" and widing the path to about 15"....I still get a line of grass standing up. I think I will try the normal blade again and see what I get.

The three tines above the sharpened edge makes quick work of the grass blades. I have used the blade as both to cut the grass clippings left to fall onto the lawn and to bag the grass clippings for composting. The mulched grass blades are super fine. My old blade would require multiple bag changes to empty the grass clippings and my composter piles of grass were huge. Now with the new Craftsman mulching lawnmower blade, the compost pile is 25% of what was before. This also means more passes on the lawn befoere requiring emptying my chute bag.
