Started on very fist pull
My last Craftsman mower lasted for years until I bent the shaft. I decided to just get a new one rather than pay a lot of money to get an old mower working again. This new mower was easy to "assemble" out of the box - just unscrew, pull handles all the way out and screw again. Adding oil was a bit annoying - awkward location for filler. Use a funnel. But, honestly, how often do people actually change the oil in a mower. :-) I filled up the gas tank, then gave it one relatively gentle pull after priming. It started right up and chopped up some overgrown stuff leaving no visible debris.

Think before buying
This product is not "Senior user-friendly". A major disadvantage is the placement of the oil fill tube. It is located behind the muffler under the blower housing, in the engine block and above the mower deck. The oil full tube cap and dipstick are difficult to remove with very limited "finger" space. I would not recommend this mower for seniors and/or others who have problems stooping/bending over.

Worth Every Penny - Excellent Mower

Bought this to replace one that was dying. As per other reviews, the oil plug is hard to get to. BUT, if you use a 1/2 inch wide straight slot screwdriver that's about 6 inches long, there's a slot on top of the plug you can insert the screwdriver and twist it off.Just don't twist too hard or you could break it. Yes, you will need a small long funnel, This thing was so easy to pull start, I thought it might actually be broken. I added oil, gas and then with one pull, it fired right off and ran so smooth. One lever for the rear wheels and one lever for the front wheels. Highly adjustable and very easy to do. This is a very light mower. It seems like it only weights 10 lbs. Very easy to push and easily maneuverable. My last mower was a 190cc and it would bog down on the same spots this one just cut thru without any noticeable change in speed. SO HAPPY I bought this. As you're doing now, I read all the reviews to see what everyone thought about it. You won't be sorry!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Needs Some Work

This mower provides good features for the price range. The quality of mine left something to be desired however. After setup (very simple) I set the adjusters to 3" and started to mow. The mower was scraping the ground and digging into the dirt. It appears the adjuster is not manufactured properly. At most I can only get about 3" of clearance for the highest setting (marked a 6" on the housing). Don't buy this unit if you like to cut your lawn long or need to cut very long grass.

Overall
PERFECT for the price

We needed a mower that was lightweight, and had multiple capabilities (mulching and bagging), with height adjustable wheels. Looked at a few places, then a friend said they bought a beautiful mower at Sears, so I checked it out. Logged online, liked this one, went to the store to put hands and eyes on it, bought it. 24 hrs later we took it out of the box, adjusted the handles up, put some gas in it, topped it off with oil that was provided, hooked up the bag with dust blocking technology (HUGE selling point), and away we went. An hour and a half later we had one of the most beautiful lawns in the neighborhood, all for just $200.63 (your price may be different based on tax rate in your area)! LOVE the thing, easy to set up, use, and the dust-blocking technology of the bag works - I didn't sneeze once (quite a feat)! SO glad we checked out Sears.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great mower!

Plowed right through the tall stuff and cut super well. No exposed springs to tangle in overgrowth like the last mower. Started 1st pull. Pushed through the tall stuff easily. Loving me some Craftsman!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Buyer beware Poorly manufactured

My dad bought this mower for me yesterday upon opening and removing it from the box we found that the oil fill was in a weird place in fact we thought the assembly line forgot to put a piece on so we took it back to sears to my disappointment we found it was correct and to remove the PLASTIC dipstick you need a flat head screwdriver and to put oil in it you would need a funnel. Luckily we did not put gas in it so we switched it for a better mower craftsman really disappointed me on this one

140cc Briggs & Stratton 21" rear bag push mower

The only complaint I have about this mower is the location of the oil. I have small hands and still had trouble getting to the dip stick and filling the oil is no easy thing with or without a funnel.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Just what I wanted

Started on the first pull, easy to maneuver between and under shrubs. Oil dipstick/filler/drain is badly placed/designed.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

not happy with this product

I mowed the lawn 4 times with this mower - 2 of the 4 times, the retractable rope which starts the engine pulled right out and wouldn't retract back into the machine. This happened very shortly afer the 30 day return was up. I am not pleased.
