Started on very fist pull
My last Craftsman mower lasted for years until I bent the shaft. I decided to just get a new one rather than pay a lot of money to get an old mower working again. This new mower was easy to "assemble" out of the box - just unscrew, pull handles all the way out and screw again. Adding oil was a bit annoying - awkward location for filler. Use a funnel. But, honestly, how often do people actually change the oil in a mower. :-) I filled up the gas tank, then gave it one relatively gentle pull after priming. It started right up and chopped up some overgrown stuff leaving no visible debris.

Think before buying
This product is not "Senior user-friendly". A major disadvantage is the placement of the oil fill tube. It is located behind the muffler under the blower housing, in the engine block and above the mower deck. The oil full tube cap and dipstick are difficult to remove with very limited "finger" space. I would not recommend this mower for seniors and/or others who have problems stooping/bending over.

Great Little maching

Sold my riding mower when I bought the new house as the yard was a lot smaller and I spent more time backing up to turn than mowing. This machine worked great right out of the box. Have used it all summer with the bag attached and it starts and cuts great. The only issue I have had with it was when I tried to mow under my deck and the top of the mower got caught and pushed the plastic down on the pull rope and burned through the rope. That was my fault and after fixing the pull rope it started fine.

My review

Bought this mower at the beginning of summer. It wasn't too difficult to assemble. Good solid mower that pushes pretty smooth and gets the job done well.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't buy

This lawn mower is not a good investment. We are on our second one in two years. First one wouldn't start, so they replaced, we only used it twice. The second one made it just over a year, broken... Craftsman in General seems to not be a good brand.

Had to return

On the 1st use the lawn mower stalled and when tried to restart the cord wouldn't detract. Just hung. Had to return it today. Will try a different brand and/or model.

Great for the weekender

Just bought a home a year ago and decided to do my own mowing so grabbed this mower on sale. Simple to set up and so far, it always starts up. Changed the oil once and like other reviews, the location and cap is awkwardly placed but nothing too difficult to get too. I had to tip the mower to its side to drain the oil as there's no drain plug underneath. They sell the oil filters at any big home improvement stores too. Aside from that, it's a basic lawn mower without the bells and whistles.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice Mower for the money

Easy to adjust height, ease of assembly, and started on first pull. Oil reservoir difficult to get to and bag has to be set just right or leaks grass. Overall though, a good mower for the money. Thanks-
