awesome
first off not sure what the deal is with the 1 star review person. These mowers are mass produced with the same specs, everyone is identical. There may be small tolerance differences and fit and finish but all the holes and parts are made the same way and in the same spot. Sounds like user error to me. Now to my review. This mower started on the first time, the variable speed is nice and only took me 10 seconds to get used to the feel of it. Easy to maneuver and push. Can even use it without the drive system, a little bit heavy but doable. Pretty quiet engine and runs smooth. THe bag is a bit small but did not find myself emptying constantly. Time will tell how durable this mower is but so far its 5 stars.

Poor instructions
While trying to assemble mower the bolts for the handle go in the wrong way so you can only assemble handle with the mower at the highest setting when you lower the mower the fasteners hit the wheels.Junk I shouldn't have to modify the mower to make it work it's going back today same day I picked it up.

Best Mower I ever owned

After 15yrs my old craftsman FWD mower had to go after I hit an old rusty water line sticking up out of the ground. Really messed up the engine. This new mower exceeded my expectations. I think it?s a great value for it?s features. I like having no primer button to push when you start and the deck washing feature is really nice too. I do have to get used to RWD and the power. My old mower was 6.25HP and upgrading to 7.25HP doesn?t sound like much but to me it is. The self-propelled is a lot faster than the old one. But the variable speed helps. I don?t have one bit of level ground on my property and this mower climbs hills great. I like having the larger 11in wheels on the back, makes it easier to make turns. Starts on the first pull every time, been using it about 3 weeks now. I highly recommend this mower. DON?T pay any attention to the one star review. They clearly did not read the instructions before they assembled.

Replacement for a Murray

Bought this as a replacement for a 12 yr old Murray. This mower engine is top quality but the mower deck is trash. The height adjustment is not high enough for mulching operation, the deck clogs with clippings and the bagging slot has opening around the filler and allows clippings to build up. It leaves a string of clippings on the lawn. It is not the quality mower my old Murray was but my axle gave out and can not be repair cheaply. I would not buy if you are using it as a mulching mower. I get angry having to go over the lawn twice to mulch the left over clipping.

Excellent mower

Ok first off this mower took less than ten minutes to assemble and it was ready to go. Started on the first pull and as soon as I started cutting I noticed the difference between this mower and my previous FWD craftsman mower. Cuts very well and propels forward with ease. By far the best mower I have ever owned and used. Oh and my other craftsman died after seven years due to me striking a large rock. So this was an emergency buy on my part and I expect it to be as reliable as my previous turn key FWD craftsman. I would recommend this mower to anyone! Ignore the one star comment as they may have had difficulty with directions.

Nice mower but

I really like the mower. It's the first self-propelled I've owned. Good power. Easy to start. Takes a little to get used to the self-propelled part, it seems to have a lot of power there. The problem is the oil cap. I have used the mower 4 times now. 2 of those times the oil cap has vibrated loose. I am certain it was fully on when I started but after about 20 minutes it was loose and making a mess. This really needs to be fixed.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent mower for the money

The mower took one day to arrive at my home via UPS. It was easy to set up and as this was my first rear drive variable speed mower I was particularly impressed with the first time pull on starting (no rubber button to prime) and the ease of varying the speed. It can certainly go faster than what I can walk. The only warning I would give is when adding the oil don't just upend the bottle and try to pour it all in at once. It won't take it and will overflow the filler. I liked the Briggs engine as I'm very familiar with them. It's a good priced mower for the features.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Lawnmower

Works great!! For the price I paid It could not be beat. Have a big slope in my back yard and this mower drives up it with lots of extra power. Easy assemble and starts on first pull every time. The one negative review is not helpful and if they had assembled they would love it too. Looked at alot of mowers and read alot of reviews that is why I'm taking time to write this review. You will not be disappointed with this new craftsman.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Better than others costing twice as much

This is a great mower, easy to assemble, easy to start, handles can be adjusted so the position when mowing is comfortable no matter your height. The deck height adjustment is one of the best I've seen. This is truly a self propelled mover, it moves at a great pace and is very powerful. If you are tired of pushing your old self propelled mower around the yard, look at this unit
