Pretty good machine. Nice and quiet. Lots of power. Only ran twice, but starts second pull every time. No choke, primer bulb, or thought required. Nice bagger system keeps the dust down and easy to remove and replace. The self propelled system works great although I would prefer a rear wheel drive system.
I am a 68 years old women and it is so easy to start and also very easy to put it into gear to mow, just pull back on the handle and it goes. I would recommend this to everyone who needs a good lawnmower.
So I purchased this mower after the repair center took over a month and a half to fix my old mower. The new mower I purchased is leaps and bounds better than my old one. It never takes more thsn one pull to start it. The new mower sips gas and is a little quieter than my old one. All in all im extremely pleased with this purchase it has not failed me yet and does a wonderful job.
Purchased about 3 months ago and have used it maybe 10 times. Right out of the box I had to reroute some of the cables. Drive cable rubbed rear wheel and release cable fell in slot where grass bag goes. No big deal but shouldn't have had to do it. Started up first pull and have never had starting problems. Love the mulching design but the blade is junk. Have to go over the grass twice because the curved blade does not cut all the grass in the path. I'll get a regular flat blade soon. FWD is great and the wheel lock up in other reviews is a built in safety feature. Just let the mower go forward a little after you release the handle and wheels will roll freely backwards. The silent technology is great and very noticeably quieter. Don't like the hose connect clean out because it does not remove 100% of the grass and the remaining wet grass starts to stink up my garage. I lift the front and use high pressure nozzle for better results. All in all an average mower with the trusted craftsman name.

I just bought my first house, this is my first lawnmower, so I was surprised when midway through mowing my lawn for the first time I let it turn off and couldn't get it started again. I checked everything and was on the verge of bringing it back when my dad took a look at it for me and found that the stop switch wire wasn't working. The plastic part holding the throttle wires in tension had broken free. I fixed it with a $2 stainless steel bolt rather than take it to Sears where they would no doubt take weeks to replace the wire assembly with a new piece of plastic. I bought a Craftsman mower because the name is all over my Dad's tools, but I regret not buying from a local dealer something a bit better. All that said, it actually works quite well now that it does, the Briggs and Stratton quiet OHV is indeed quiet and it mulches very well.
