so the 4wd is helpful, but its weight at 90 lbs makes it very hard to handle in tight spots. Apparently there is some sort of design flaw in the deck so cleaning is not quite as easy as just hooking up the hose and turning everything on. When mowing in damp grass, not wet, I have had it stall out because grass builds up between the blade and the deck and will stop the mower! The mower does have a nice, even cut and, as previously mentioned, the 4wd is great on my hilly yard,
Wanted rear wheel drive but went with the all wheel drive. Rear wheel would have been ok. Seldom notice the front drive contributing to the job. The overall length of the mower bothers me which comes from the long handle but that makes it easier to lift the front when turning.
I just bought this mower and I'm very pleased with the performance and results. Totally recommended it.

The all whell drive feature made this mower very easy to go up inclines. The all wheel drive feature made it hard to make turns. This mower made my lawn look like a golf course but left clumps of grass every 5 feet when using the mulching feature. I took this mower back and Sears allowed me to trade it in for the 2 wheel drive (large real wheels) edition of this mower. I am really happy with the rear wheel drive 190cc Craftsman mower.
I bought this mower because my new home's yard was too hilly for my lawn tractor to do comfortably. I couldn't be more pleased! It started on the first pull, as it has ever since, and is simply a pleasure to use, even on the toughest terrain. The dual finger tip controls are wonderful for maneuvering and steep hills.
After some hard mowing it does have trouble restarting and when you hit a hole or fence post it wants to stall out. Probably the auto choke that you actually hear clunk when you hit something. Now the good. 4 wheel drive pulls through all I have. Haven't hit a rock with the blade yet as you can lift the front or rear wheel off the ground and still go. Jumps streams in the same manner which makes things easy. I have had front wheel drive and really had trouble with parts of the yard. We don't have much flat and this mower handles the rocky hills almost with ease. This is mostly a trim mower for a 33" walk behind but it still gets a few hours per mow. I don't bag. The handle seems longer. Probably because of rear bagging. The handle locks in the up position for when it is put away which is great. Other mowers my land has beaten to death so if this only holds up I will be happy.
