      Great Tractor
Starts right up out of the packing crate. Runs smooth and lots of power The height adjustments are a lot easier to use and there are more to choose from. They have separated the forward and reverse. direction pedals. The only draw back I have found is the height adjustment lever is a little to long and catches your pants or leg when you get off that side of the tractor.

BUYER BEWARE - Plastic transmission housing known to be Defective
One compelling problem that ALL OWNERS of this model will eventually experience is the "grinding in reverse sound". I've had two Sears Repair Techs come out to diagnose issue this month. Both techs refused to make any repairs. Here's why - this problem is so common with this model that their protocol for repair, based on manufacturer's recommendation, dictate that they not repair or replace parts, unless tractor will not go into reverse or go forward. According to the Sear's repair tech, it's not worthwhile for Sears to repair/replace tranny, since grinding sound WILL return within 2 to 3 months or sooner. The plastic transmission housing is the culprit, however, manufacturer is unwilling to call it a defect. Repair tech also mentioned that it may be worth trying to return tractor for credit and spending $200-300 extra on tractor with metal transmission housing. We will see in the next day or two if Sear's customer service will do the right thing.

      Junk mower

This mower has been a problem since we bought it. We bought it in February 2014 so we didn't use it until the spring. Within 20 hours the mandrel assembly broke. They sent me parts and I was without a mower for two weeks. Ran fine until this season. First cut the mandrel assembly on the other side broke. This time they "had to send a service technician". Another three weeks without a mower. Got it fixed, used it one time. Guess what's broke again? The top of the mandrel assembly by the pulley! They are sendin parts. In all reality, they should be replacing the mower for me because it is a continuos problem. If I wanted this much trouble, I would have bought used clunkers! Unless I get a replacement mower from the store, I will never spend a dime at Sears on anything.

      Worst Mower I Ever Bought

I purchased this mower in April of 2014. Several weeks later I had trouble with the transmission. Tech came out and ordered a new one. 4 weeks later it arrived. Called to have service performed. Tech came out and said he was too old to do this type of repair. (Seriously) Came back several days later with an assistant and replaced trans. Called Service towards end of 2014 season because mower wouldn't run right. Tech adjusted carb. Same situation occurred with carb in April of 2015. Tech replaced carb. Worked fine for 2 1/2 months. Now tractor will not run, move or engage blades unless in full choke. Calling tomorrow for yet another service appointment. This thing is a piece of junk.

      Transmission Problems

The transmission gears are plastic...I have had just under a year and now have to have it worked on since gears in transmission are fubar. Spend the extra money and get the next up model with metal gears. If you already have one write to Sears and Craftsman to stop selling this model...PLASTIC GEARS REALLY? Do not buy. The only reason I gave two stars is because it cuts good when working...

Wonderful on All Terrain I have

This machine is an upgrade for me over my last Craftsman 22hp which I purchased used. This mower is very fast and efficient. Easy to maneuver and gets into places I could not access easily before. It is roomy and comfortable and handles the rough terrain here as easily as the flat lawn. We have hills, ruts, wooded areas. I did a lot of research before deciding on this model and I have to say I am more than a little impressed!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Bad Start

When I first recieved this tractor, the left panal was not staying attached and it would not mow in reverse without stalling the engine. After turning the system off and on again, the transmission finaly started working as advertised. I submitted a trouble ticket and Sears came out and replaced my tractor. When I went to start the new one, the battery was not connected. Mowed the lawn and this tractor seemed to do as promised. I would like a better more even cut, but i'm told thats not possible with the 48" system.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Not good!

I have had this mower less than two days and the beck belt has come off three time. The drive belt is slipping and it will not climb hills and you can smell it burning. I asked them to bring a replacement but they would not do it until a service man tries to fix it. This is bull, I payed good money for this mower and should get one that works.

Maybe ok on level ground, doesn't go up even small slopes

Can't go up hills with a 1/2 loaded cart behind it, changed tires to more aggressive style, then added wheel weights. Drive belt failed 2 times with 24.8 hours on machine, had to order parts, they forgot to ship the parts. Multiple phone calls. After all that needed a new battery and it is not a year old. Got a new machine sitting in my garage today, good bye.

      Riding Lawn Mower

I tried it and the cruise on it doesn't work. They are sending someone to look at it. I was told this happens a lot on this mower. If this is so why aren't they fixing this before someone buys it.
