    Great.. With one major catch
Comprehensive set, but didn't not realize Sears has made the bonehead move to only include 12 point 1/2" drive sockets. Looking at the other mechanics sets they all have this in common. Come on Sears.. 1/2" drive sockets should be 6 point, like you used to ship your sets with 2.5 years ago. If you are reaching for a 1/2" ratchet then chances are you are working on fasteners that require some torque to spin on/off. Not an ideal application for a 12 point socket (which will round the fastener).

Lots of tools but the right ones?

With 40 allen wrenches and 20 screw driver tips, you kind of fell short changed in the 220 pieces. Could use some bigger 1/2 inch drive sockets in the set. The 154 piece set seems to be more complete.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Tons of Small Sockets!, Lacking Larger Deep Sockets, Extensions & Wrenches!

Where do I start! I was looking for a complete, but somewhat versatile tool set that gave me more than the standard socket and ratchet set that most of us own, but I don't think is it! Tons of smaller socket sizes, which remains to be seen if they will ever be needed. Only 6 combinations wrenches and they are small to medium in size. Hex keys total 40 and if you are like me, you probably have a few sets (both the loose type and the all-in-one?) already, so that would be unnecessary duplication. Deep sockets max out at 13mm and 9/16, so that too are on the small to medium size. Markings are all hard to read. Socket Ratchets are okay built, but nothing like the older model Craftsman's. Bit handle is okay for a kit and since it's not ratcheting, less chance of it breaking! Only one extension - small 1/4" at 1.5"!, which was missing! A few parts were not marked. I am surprised that it's made in USA (some say it's made in China). But yes, all the parts come in bags.

    Excellent buy

I needed to do some work on my car and was in need of getting tools. I was presented with various options and decided on this set. Although it does not come with additional extensions, it does contain everything I need to do my mechanical work. Excellent choice that comes with the Craftsman quality and warranty. Better yet, it was on sale!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great price but not a practical set for everyday use...

I've owned craftsman tools for a long time and have never had any complaints. I already own a tool box full of all the tools I'd ever need, but just needed something a little smaller for everyday use around the house and minor vehicle repairs. A while back I purchased a 94 piece set similar to this one. After sometime now, I find myself still going back to my big tool set to get more sockets, wrenches, etc... So to cure this problem, I figured I'd buy the bigger set to lessen my trips. Well needless to say, I was not impressed. Maybe it's me, but this set was not practical to my use at all. I would think a big set should have more than 6 wrenches in it, and this set had no extensions as well. The "plus" side to this set was you get a lot of sockets, all the way down to the smallest ones possible, but reality is you'd never actually use them. To me, it makes this set impractical. Long Story short, I took it back and purchased the 154 piece set. It cost less and has everything you need.

    Birthday Present

This tool set I got for my birthday. When I opened the box, I had to put all 220 pieces into the correct spot in the box. But besides that, it works fine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Did I buy this at sears or ikea?

I opened the box to find the pieces in bags. I expected the pieces to be in place already. Even the cheap **** at ******* comes organized and in place. It wouldn't be quiet so bad if the sockets in each bag were organized at least. But no, not even close. I had sockets from seven different sections in one bag and not a single section filled up. The picture on the box shows pieces laying in the case. I thought there would be a moulded place for these pieces under the inner lid. Nope, nada, nothing, zip, zero, zilch. So, I guess someone had the great idea to just let these pieces lay around disorganized so I can spend time pilfering through my tools. Because, Craftsman knows, when a repair has taken hours longer than it should have or we're holding something heavy in place waiting to be bolted, we love searching for that one piece. That big space would be better left open for nuts, bolts, screws, etc. and have a magnetic plate in it. The chrome is also flaking on most pieces. Really?
