Craftsman  22'' Advanced Bagging and Mulching Blade (HOP star hole pattern)

Does an excellent job on leaf mulching but leaves a lot to be desired for overall lawn cutting. I plan on using this blade in the spring and fall but will switch to the standard blade in between.

I recently purchased this blade. It may mulch but is terrible if you want your grass cut evenly. I can see now why it does not bog down the mower. It's only cutting about half the grass. You then mow it again and instead of getting the other half, you get about half of what you missed before. I mowed some parts of the yard 4 times and still had long grass sticking up in numerous places. After spending twice as much time as usual, the yard still looked like it needed to be mowed. I even checked to make sure I did not put the thing on upside down. At least there would be a reason for the awful performance. Very disappointed.

I am a fan of this blade, it chops up the grass, leaves and small twigs very well. I used my mower all year long and you definitely can see the difference. It's worth the extra $8

Works great! Like a new machine again. Easy to install, just make sure to confirm the hole pattern on the machine. There are two, round and star.

It is a good thing the blade is good because the mower (916.374544) sucks and it needs everything going for it that it can. I have owned many sears products and most are excellent, but this mower has the worst engineering I have ever seen. There should be a recall on this unit before someone gets hurt.

Old blade was getting dull, so I thought this would be a a nice upgrade (and not much more expensive than paying for the other blade to be sharpened).... This blade left clumps of cut grass _everywhere_.. I had to rake (essentially de-thatch the yard) when I finished. This blade is not for self-mulching.. maybe that's my fault for mis-understanding the name/use. Also I found the grass was getting caught and clumping at the side door causing the mower to seize up.

Purchased this Advanced Mulcher-Bagger replacement blade with other components for a spring tune up for my Craftsman 7hp mower. Incredible results over the past two seasons from lawn to leaf chores. I use it to reduce my leaf pile. Mulches even wet leaves down about a 12:1 ratio. Seriously, down to the consistency of oatmeal!. ?As a result, g?reat improvement in my compost pile breakdown, and less trips to the landfill with the excess because I can fit more in the trailer. Silly if anyone is concerned about the price. It's reasonable for what it does. The time and effort it saves me is worth every penny.

The only caveat, don't ding it up on rocks. Keep it sharp and balanced!

I would recommend this blade it is better than the original that comes with the mower.  It cuts then throws it way back of the bag so that it can fill more.

This blade is awesome, it makes my mower complete....i only wish this blade was standard with the mower!!!

I could not use the product as the box stated it was for model 917.xxxxxx mowers. Unfortunately it does not work on my 917.xxxxxx mower. The holes are diagonal from each other vs being in a direct line like the adapter that comes with the mower. I might have to get a different adapter to use this but will just keep what I have in terms of the adapter.
