I was surprised to find find such a high rating for a product that does not do its function. It looks and feels nice, cool electronic display and a handy laser, BUT it is not accurate as a level so what good is it. Knowing that it was not accurate and not having the manual, I came here to find how to calibrate the level. . . . YOU CAN'T. The tool is virtually useless now, can't trust any of the electronic readings. Bubble level works OK, trust old school. All those 5 stars are on looks not function or ignorance on the use of the tool.

Well, I like quality and am willing to pay extra for it. When I saw these levels on sale, I bought the 4 ft, 2 ft, and 10 inch models. Spent a LOT of money still, but being an engineer, I like to be accurate when I build things. All of these levels react a LOT slower than competitors models. Calibration (and lack of the ability to calibrate the unit) is terrible. When I measure something with the level in one direction and flip the level around and get two different readings after they finally stabilize. I'm about ready to just give all three away and either go back to the bubble levels or buy the competitor's product. I would never buy one of these again!!! Good package and presentation, but TERRIBLE execution of the task at hand!!!!

This Level is very easy to use and is very accurate. Perfect lenght to make it one of your most used levels, the laser turns it from a 5 star to a 10!!!

The digital numbers quit working and with no way to fix it I think it is about worthless.

My dad has had two of these levels in the past 3 years - both given as Christmas gifts. I gave him the most recent one which lasted as long as the first one he was given which was about 16 months. Granted, it gets a lot of use, but to only last 16 months is ridiculous. What has happened both times is that the digital display just quits working. No way to fix it that I've found, and seems Sears couldn't be bothered replacing it. I know it's only $60, but still - it *is* a Craftsman product. At one point that brand stood for something. Also, even from the outset, the second model seemed "touchy" and "fidgety" to get to 0 or 90 degrees, which isn't the worst thing, but sometimes it's annoying. So, for his birthday/Father's day, I'm looking elsewhere for a digital level. Maybe another brand will last a little longer than 16 months. Fool me once, shame on you. Foll me twice, shame on me. No more shame.

I tend to buy the smaller versions of most tools. I have worked on aircraft for years where we have to carry our tools with us to where ever the aircraft is parked and a ramp tug is not always available for the ride. I had the 10" version of this level and really liked it but kept finding its short length limiting. I finally broke down and bought the 24 inch version. Man, what a difference the longer level has made. Much easier to accomplish tasks that were a struggle with the shorter level. Of course, the technology works perfectly as it did with the shorter unit so I am quite happy with this level. "Sacramento" Bruce Conklin

this one has no instructions on checking the calibration. this could become a real problem for someone that expects perfection out of the box. had i not known how to check it, i would have had serious problems with my work. i do mean serious. i fortunately knew enough to check. when i checked the calibration on mine right out of the package, i found it to be off by 0.7 degrees. when i went to calibrate it, i found that it can't be calibrated. i own another brand also, that other one can be calibrated and has documentation on checking for it. being an engineer, i recalibrated it myself and went on my way. if you don't know how to check it, find someone that does.
