Product Description

Dual-Stage Snowblower Clears Snow in Record Time

It's time to retire your old snow shovel and start clearing the icy masses from your driveway and walkways with a Craftsman 24'' snowblower. This lightweight blower has a strong and effective four-cycle, 179cc OHV engine that blows snow out of your way in minutes, meaning you spend much less time on the task than when you use a shovel for the job. The modern design includes an easy push-button electric starting system that gets the blower revving whenever you need it, even in subzero weather. And unlike older snow blowers, there's no need to mix gas and oil to get the machine started.

The Dual-Stage Snowblower has an oversized 24-inch clearing width that gets the job done fast, even when you're clearing snow from large driveways, big yards or decks. To remove heavy, wet snow, sludge or ice, power up the 12-inch serrated steel auger or 12-inch impeller to break up the icy, impacted blocks and blow them out of your way. With eight different speeds, six forward and two backward, you can easily adjust the thrower to clear light to heavy snow buildup from all areas of your landscape.

  • The Craftsman 24'' snowblower comes equipped with a remote crank and chute direction control to make adjustments without leaving the operator's position.
  • Push button starting makes for easy starts, even in the coldest conditions.
  • Large 13-inch-by-4-inch X-Trac tires keep the tool steady with superior traction for extra easy maneuverability and safety.
  • Glide Tech, reversible skid shoes, are long lasting and prevent scratching of brick and paver drives and will not leave rust stains in your garage.
  • Plow handles increase control of the blower and reduce pressure on your legs and lower back.

The little snowblower that could...
I've had this unit since 2008. Same model. Same engine. Same everything. For these last five years I've never needed the electric start. One pull with proper priming and it fires right away. My wife can start it herself just the same. I've tackled numerous blizzards with this little machine and I can't say enough of it. This last February (2013) we had a blizzard in CT that dropped three feet of snow. If this thing could talk, I'd swear it would say, "No problem. Let's do this!" It just...works. Change the oil, follow a proper maintenance plan, keep it clean, lubricated, check bolts for tightness and make sure your intake's shoes are properly adjusted. You'll have a fine workhorse for even the worst storms. I'm going five winters strong with well over 50 storms here in NW CT. Not a thing replaced! I challenge you to find another review with that kind of experience!

Craftsman 24" Snowblower

My husband and I bought this larger snowblower after we had trouble with the old one we were using. This is larger, stronger and gets the job done in half the time. Although we do not want to see anymore snow this winter season, we are happy to have a machine that tackles the job. Sears and Craftsman are wonderful products and Sears stands behind all their products.

Craftsman 24" 179cc Dual Stage Snow blower

Second snowiest winter in Michigan history, to date 93" of snow in our area. Snowblower did an excellent job removing snow from my driveway 16' wide 70' long as well as the whole street in front of my house 150'. No effort required on my behalf, just plug in set the choke press the button and starts every time. Plenty of power for even the highest drifts. Compact enough takes up little space in the garage. two bits of advice 1) Buy one don't shovel take it easy on your heart 2) either buy on black friday or cyber Monday - the price will be 499.00 either way you end up picking it up at your local Sears (Save a buck)

Good Buy 2 Year review

After 2 years I am very satisfied. Some express doubts about plastic chute: no problem with frozen slush from city plow. Rarely has it not started on first pull. Never used electric start; no need. Only con, and this is being nit picky, bottom front corners of auger housing have bent a little just in front of slides.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

SNOW BLOWER BLOWS AWAY SNOW

THIS BLOWER WAS EASY TO PUT TOGETHER AND STARTED ON THE FIRST TURN. THE ELECTRIC START IS VERY CONVENIENT. I HAVE THE SAME BLOWER AS MY DAUGHTER AND WE BOTH ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE PRODUCT. REASONABLY PRICED ALSO.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Finally got smart

I finally broke down and bought a snow blower....I looked a a number of models but decided on the Craftsman because it looked sturdy and had a good reputation. I took it home and the set up literally took under 15 minutes (took longer to muscle it off my truck). A few days later the report threatened snow so I gassed it up and tested it. Lo and behold it started on the first pull (I did not test the electro start) and warmed quickly to operating speed. We haven't yet gotten the snow but I have no doubt that this little beauty will do the job when it comes tomorrow night. All in all it's always nice to see a product that actually delivers as promised......

Minnesota Feb 23, 2014 Report

I door busted on TG night for this rig. This has been the coldest winter in 30 years with weekly snow for additional fun. The 179cc has been great! I am glad I got it since at first I thought it was too much for a city house and driveway but without it I would be in rehab or have paid $1000+ for snow service. Starts every time with 1 pull - I've used the starter but too much hassle to deal with a frozen extension cord so no need. This B blasts snow 30 feet back into the street so the city plows can make a nice 2 ft ice ridge in front of my driveway- repeat/ all winter. Obviously you want to hit the hard ice with a dirt shovel first and then attack with the 179 but don't point that chute at your neighbor's Benz because your sweet 179 is a lethal ice cannon!

It blows snow!

Great snowblower! It's done a great job of removing all of the heavy, wet snow we've received over the last serveral weeks. A wise investment made just in the nick of time!

sorry I bought it

I bought it at the store pre-assembled. When I used it, I found that reverse 1 still went forward. I called about the problem and was told that I would have to bring it to their service dept. which is 110 miles round trip and probably have to drop it off and repeat the 110 miles to pick it up after it was repaired or pay $96 to have someone come out and fix it.
