I'm not a great fan of anything Sears with a motor, but I wanted to try a straight shaft trimmer. I crossed my fingers & decided to give this one a try. It started on the fourth pull out of the box & has never taken more than three pulls when cold since. It has always started on the first pull when hot. Power is sufficient for any normal use. I've had it about 4 months & am perfectly happy with it. My neighbor used it twice & bought one for himself. (Made me happy for that) I'm not sure when my curved shaft Steihl will be used again.
I've used the trimmer for about a month and am pleased with the purchase. I moved to a house where a lot more trim work was required so wanted a reliable straight shaft trimmer. It's easy to start and runs well. Remember to buy some extra line because what it comes with doesn't last long.

worked really well over all but when trying to cut tall grass it would tangle up on the shaft and bog down the motor other than that great product!
I was very pleasantly surprised at how easily this trimmer worked. nice and lite but got the job done very efficiently. the bump head worked to perfection as the trim line was at a constant working length

This trimmer was bought to replace an aging electric trimmer. I wanted to free myself from the constraints of an electrical extension cord and thought a good investment would be a gas powered line trimmer. I have about 1/4 acre property. This trimmer is more than adequate for that. It is strong enough to chop down some pretty decent sized weeds besides being perfect for trimming and light edging of the lawn. I did have to return it for exchange as the engine would not idle properly and ran very roughly. The replacement seems to work perfectly. For this reason I am only giving 4 stars. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. A word about straight vs curved shaft trimmers: Straight shafts will allow you to reach under bushes much easier that curved shafts! They also supposedly last longer as the travel from motor to trimming head is in a straight line. So far I am quite happy with the replacement!
I bought this weedeater for my Husband ans well I was the one that ended up using it. It is very easy to use and it is light weight that was a plus. I really didn't want to use something that was real heavy. It wasn't to loud either just right for either a guy or girl.
