I purchased this blower about two weeks ago and have used it several times. It has excellent power and is easy to start. The directions for its use was excellent and I am enjoying it greatly.

This item is light and easy to carry around. It performs nicely and starts well. It has plenty of power to keep up with the workload. Everything looks great and tidy thanks to this wonderful addition to our lawn equipment.
when new, hard to start...now will not start. Took it to my mechanic friend and changed the plug and fresh gas and oil mixture...did not start for him...he explained the plug was not getting enough power from the magneto....to fix would be more than it's worth

Worked well for 2 seasons, estimate no more than 40 hours. Became harder and harder to start, would not idle. Replaced spark plug and gas filter: no better, and soon could not start at all. I do not believe 2 years is nearly good enough.
this blower is very hard starting when cold even after priming and choke. once it starts it sputters until it warms up. i use the recomended new fuel mixture which you sell at the stores, this item needs to be looked at.

I don't know if Craftsman brand is no longer a quality brand you can depend on or what the problem is but my experience with this Craftsman blower is not a good one. I bought this one to replace an old Craftsman that gave up the ghost after many years of easy use. This machine absolutely is the hardest machine to get started (if not impossible) that I have ever encountered. I bought it in Mid-March and because I did not need to use it until later in the season I didn't know it would be problematic. Since that time (approximately 30 days) eventually I have gotten it to start successfully only 2 times and on one of those times I had to get my much stronger son to get it going. If he hadn't stepped in that time it would not have started at all for me. Finally I returned it to Sears Repair Department and they sent it away for 2 weeks. I got a call from the repair department saying their technicians could not find anything wrong with it and it started repeatedly for them. (I will be picking it up today and we will see. It has to start for me----not them). Having read the most recent disgruntled review that the printed instructions are being the problem, I am hoping that is true for my machine too. I will pick it up today and use that fellow's adapted starting instructions. If successful, I will keep the blower and say thanks to him for the suggestion. If unsuccessful---I am returning the darned thing for a refund! Because regardless of whether the Sears techs could start it, The bottom line is it MUST start for me!
Had this blower for two years. Choke never worked right - always had to adjust it for optimum running - if choke was closed all the way the engine would stall. Then it just stopped running the other day. Not worth the repair cost or travel to the distant service center.
