      Ratcheting Wrenches, Oh Yeah!
This set is all you need for sockets and wrenches. All sizes, 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2". Standard & metric. The best difference between this and the 255 piece set is the ratcheting wrenches. Also, this tool box has individual holders for the wrenches under the flip top, rather than just a drawer where they just lay together. Assortment of torx bits, hex head and miniature wrenches too.

      Made In China
This set, for a weekend warrior mechanic like me, would me more than sufficient. I'm not upset about the tool selection or the fact that the tool count is inflated by useless stamped wrenches or allen key sets that everyone already has. I am upset by the fact that my grandpa gave me this set for Christmas and I didn't have the heart to tell him I'm returning it because 1) It is made in China, 2) The tools feel cheap and won't last as long as the rusty set my grandpa bought 40 years ago, 3) The case is junk and falls apart not to mention this "little" outfit is about 60 lbs. I own this product, but only for a few more days until I can find the receipt. Craftsman is another fine example of why this country has gotten in the mess that it's in.

Toolbox is a major disappointment! Quality is not there anymore.

Overall great set to buy, since you have a large variety of socket sizes... but you should read what isn't so "great" about it. When you buy a larger tool set such as this one, it is nice to have a quality toolbox with it. For those how are on the go, stationary tool cabinet isn't the answer. Solid box (especially one that has a craftsman logo right on the top of it) should allow you to organize your sockets without hassle and access them at any time. Well, it is not the case when you try to use this tool case. In the photos it looks great, but once you start working with it, soon enough you will find out how frustrating it is to access any of the drawer compartments. Whoever designed it, did not take into account the weight of the sockets / wrenches and the use of the box creates more issues then it's worth. Let me summarize that in a few points: 1) If you try to pull out any of the drawers, shortly you will drag the entire box with you and the drawer won't open - there is no bearing, just plastic grinding against, creating a huge amount of friction especially when the drawer is loaded with tools (which naturally it is). 2) If you try to remove second or third drawer from the top, the other ones will simply fall out of their "rails" and collapse down, therefore, effectively prohibiting you from sliding the drawer you just pulled out back into the box. To slide it back, you have to lift the upper drawers and with a little luck you will be able to push the other drawer back in without jamming your fingers. 3) The sockets do not snap into place. Maybe a minor issue, but not when the top drawer falls down into the box because you pulled out 2nd or 3rd drawer and all of its content is now all over the place. Much better when the sockets "lock" into place, just in case you bump into the box while working on a car etc. Now, let's talk about ratcheting ranches. Yes, they are "awesome" to use, but don't expect putting a lot of torque on them. The mechanism DEFINITIVELY isn't top of the line and will snap. I am not comparing this set to Craftsman Professional tools by any means, but in my mind Craftsman used to represent quality, durability and thoughtful design. With the design of the toolbox, the wrenches and few other components (soft metal used for hex keys - will strip down under medium torque), the quality just isn't there anymore. One thing I loved about the older tools Craftsman made, is that you could pick it up and with 100% confidence tackle a project without worrying that something might break. Yeah, the lifetime warranty is great - but when you are in the middle of a project do you really feel like getting into the car and driving to Sears just to have your wrench exchanged, while dragging the entire toolbox behind you, since when you tried to open the second drawer, the first one fell down and jammed your finger? Just a shameful quality degradation of what Craftsman logo used to represent.

      Good Value

Although there are many suppliers of hand tools, Craftsman is and will remain the best value for both the weekend mechanic and the professional.

Quality isn't like it was when these sets were made in the U.S.

When I purchased this item, I didn't realize that it was made in China until I noticed that the ratchet extensions were really wobbly when snapped in place. I'm talking really bad wobble. Only then I searched for where this set was made, and sure enough, it was Made in China. I bought this set with confidence that I was getting quality US made tools because that was Craftsman's reputation. Sadly this isn't the case anymore. I will continue to buy Craftsman, but only US made parts since the quality definitely reflects where is is manufactured. I returned this set back to Sears to pursue an older US made set. I pray that Craftsman won't abandon their US manufactures in the future, because I am a huge Craftsman fan.

      great set

I was able to get this set at a great price. I was starting a new job and this set provided most of what I needed. Of course some things needed to be better quality like the allen wrenches, but overall I am very pleased with it...especially for the price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Extremely Pleased!

Exceptional value and exceptional quality. If these tools were purchased separately, the cost would be well over $500.00. Every tool is MADE IN THE USA! If you are a tool nut, like am, you will love this Craftsman quality set, I promise!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
