The Craftsman® 26-inch 208cc* dual stage snowblower gets the job done fast. The four-cycle engine provides more power, longer life, and improved fuel economy. It's easier to use, because you don't have to mix gas and oil. The push-button start saves aggravation, and the joystick lets you adjust the chute without leaving your operating position. 5 years later and still works Great
Reading some of the comments on this board? I just had to take some time out and give an honest review of this machine. I purchased this model snow blower 5 years ago and it has worked for me every year. Let me address a few things I?ve read on this board that need to be clarified. 1) Snow Sticking to Blades?.The trick to this and all snow blowers is to spray WD-40 on the auger blades and the rotating circular blade in the back behind the auger, this prevents icy snow from building up on the machine, and increases the throwing distance of the snow. When I first got this machine 5 years ago, I applied the WD 40 on the blades and was blowing 11 inches of snowfall across my street and the woman who lived on that side came over to me screaming ??keep your snow on your side of the block???.. ( needless to say I didn?t offer to do her driveway when I was done with mine).. but the point is, the WD 40 excels the snow throwing a good 30 ? 40% 2) Carburetor problems?.The only way you are going to have carburetor problems is if you leave gas in this thing after the winter season and try to start it the following year?. You should not leave the gas in it for more than 3 ? 4 months. ? How do you get the gas out? ? Simple ? let it run until it run dry 3) Performance?. We had some crazy storms out here in Long Island the last 5 years, especially the 2013 Al Gore Storm.. this machine did the job everytime. Pro?s? The 26 inch fits through doorways? just a little input for those of you who might need to get this through a regular sized door. I changed the oil after 2 years of using it and replaced with Mobil 1 10 w-30 The electric start is really convenient, after 3 years I decided to start it during a cold start with the pull cord and it did just what it was supposed to do, start right up. It also starts right up after shutting down to refill the gas tank and or take a break. You get a good amount done on a tank of gas. The Shute control is awesome, a must have especially when doing the snow on a windy day, you can position it while doing your thing to prevent the snow from blowing back in your face. The unit also comes with heavy duty plastic skid shoes that do not mark up or scratch concrete, paver blocks or asphalt surfaces. Cons?.The only thing I had to fix so far was the primer button, after 3 years it dried out and I had to replace it last year? it cost 10 dollars from sears and took a week to get to my house via the mail. The instructions were very vague and I suggest via this forum that sears put up a tutorial on how to replace it on youtube, similar to some of their other videos regarding their snow blower machines. Conclusion?Would I buy another? ? Yes, I was at sears tonight and am considering buying 14 of them for a snow plowing business. I?ve shopped Husqvarna and Arians and have made the conclusion that my Craftsman 208cc offers the best value for all the features it has, and the motor is the same as all the others manufacture

Poor Design
This machine is almost impossible to maintain. No fuel filter. Requires a lot of disassembly just to look at the carb. It worked the first season. Would not start the second season. Determined a fuel flow problem. Poor design made it very difficult to find the restriction.

Glad I bought

Surprised by its performance . Easy start . Didn't take very long to figure out the controls. Tried my best to bog it down but it kept up with it

Good at first, but unreliable

Had a great first year and half with this but now its just been problems. Even more aggravating is that parts, such as carb rebuild kits aren't stock in any store. They have to be ordered. long lead time and expensive shipping. Too bad since there isn't a fuel filter for fuel shut off, only a matter of time before the carb goes. Seems they are just looking for the consumer to break down and use their repair dept.

Works great

I have owned this snowblower for about a month. Have used it 10 times and it goes through everything I have attempted to go through. Great for the snow that the plows pile up on the end of the driveway. I find myself doing the side walks all along my street because it is so easy. It is easy for my wife to use and she has never used a snowblower before. I am impressed so far.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Awesome!

Quick and easy start. Clean pickup and clearing. Definitely cuts down time and requires no second pass. I definitely wish it has more than 190 degree range. So glad I bought it. Electric start in -17F weather is great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman's 26" snow blower

Wonderful machine. I have a 200' driveway and have side walk just as long, I had no problem cleaning with this snowblower. It works well in snow as deep as 10" (that's the most we got one day.) the electric starter is the best feature in it. M

Great Buy

Reviewed many snow blowers before settling on this one. Pros: electric start, shoot controls are next to all the other controls, no need to bend down to change the shoot direction. Cons: doesn't have heated hand grips.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Works Well After 2 Years

Purchased on sale two years back and only used once last winter, but this winter, we had snow falls about 1 foot deep. It worked well in this condition and I was able to clear my long gravel driveway (150 feet) and asphalt pavement as well. The only thing I wish it had is a built-in lamp and brakes when the drive handle is released. It will slide away if it's on the slope. I do have to drain all fuels before putting it into storage last year, but it started just after a few pulls.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

sears snow blower

I bought this right before Christmas and after reading numerous review I decided to buy the 247. Power is great and it cuts right through snow drifts up to 15 inches thick. it handles all of the snow that we have gotten in Wyoming and with the wind I needed something that would cut through the drifts. Set up was very easy, I put gas in it and it started right up. I have had no problems starting it and the electric start is great. It works well enough that I do our corner walks plus the neighbors. The only concern I have is that I don't think the wife will be able to handle this snow blower as it is big and powerful. I will follow the directions when the snow season ends and have no doubts it will start right up. I liked it enough to recommend that my father in law buy one and he did.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love Being Prepared more snow on the way

Lots of use this year. This snow blower is our first. Our neighbors are happy too. It is so easy to use that we are done in a quarter of the time we used to when shoveling. Also more area covered.
