Craftsman  26'' Wide 4-Drawer Quiet Glide™ Bottom Chest - Red/Black

I have had the six drawer top section since the late 70's. It has always been set on a bench or cabinet. Not it finally has the base. I hope this new piece lasts as long as the original top box has. So far I do not see any indication that it will not.

Excellent starter rollaway. I have had this for almost 5 years, and I am starting to outgrow only having a 4 drawer bottom chest. Quality is good. Only complaint I have is the available side shelf is plastic instead of metal now. I recommend a roll of the drawer liner (#65514) and the diamond top mat (#65660).

We bought this for our son. This is his first "real" tool box. I am pleased with the sturdy construction for being an inexpensive cabinet. This is not our first Crafsman box. I have multilpe pieces all with glide type drawers. I have never had issues with any of them and my boxes get pretty crammed and heavy. I expect this box will perfom similarly and my son can grow into more pieces as he gets older and decides what he wants. My only complaint is the wheels. I'd have liked to see bigger/heavier wheels. I also didn't read the directions before going to put them on. If I had done so, I'd have known it is not necessary to remove the drawer to install the wheel kit. No harm done except a little skin off my fingers. These drawers do not come out easily. As for upgrading to ball bearing? I dont feel it is a requirement. The glide drawers perform nicely.

I brought this model home, and returned it the same day. Save yourself the upset, and spend the few extra bucks to get the Ball Bearing Model. This one has cheap plastic sliders that may make it quiet, however the ball bearing model is just as quiet when filled with tools and can handle the abuse.

This was a gift given as a combo unit and didnt use it until now. Each of the drawers must be firmly pushed in and held to stay closed, to lock the top drawers only 3 of the 4 will lock and all the drawers need to be held in the closed position to lock. The bottom 4 drawers are the same way to lock and are very temperamental, they too have to be perfectly aligned to lock.

This was a gift and was not given a gitt receipt and do not have access to the original receipt.

After contacting Sears they quoted "REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN WITHOUT RECEIPT". This was typed to me in bold letters and was not even given a chance to find out if the product was fixable or even a coupon to upgrade. I got nothing.

I own two of these chests and each time wrestle with the decision to go with the ball bearing model or quiet glide. With the bigger drawers I do store heavier tools and items making the ball bearing model almost a must. But I opted to save some $$ and went with another quiet glide model that has worked out great. My older one is 9+ years old and has held up well and opens and closes as smooth as the new one.

My only suggestion is if you are on the fence on which model to go with - go to a Sears and try both. The ball bearing models are nice and slide smooth but have an issue with a tough open and close. Read the reviews as I am not the only one who notes this.

This is my first Bottom Chest tool box. I looked at the 5 drawer as well as the Roller Bearing bottom chest and I found this was the best value. The 4 drawer unit cost me $179.99 (on sale from $259.99 AND A $10 COUPON) The 5 drawer roller bearing unit was significantly more. So far it looks like a good solid base. I will be purchasing the top chest and weigh out the ball bearing and Quiet glide models. 

Cheap construction. Paint is very cheap, as one of the front drawers was scatched right out of the box. Sears does not back up its products either. Do not depend on Sears to honor warranty issues.

I bought this when it was on sale and using the sears online coupons. Reason I went with this model is because the lower model grey and black 4 drawer tool cabinet after viewing it in store realized how low the quality really was. I saw this one in store and was better built then the lower model. It is not top of the line by any means but perfect for my needs. My recommendation is view the model you are planning to buy in store first before purchasing it.

Well I have know use for the cabinet , But it was a great christmas gift to my husband he loves it
