Craftsman  26'' Wide 5-Drawer Ball-Bearing Top Chest - Red/Black

Great capacity, smooth operation. I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the unit and the lack of dings sometimes associated with Sears products upon delivery. Empty of fully loaded, the drawers glide out and back at a fingers touch. Nice to find a great product on sale.

The top cover is very flimsy metal as is the single brace. The quality of this chest is not as good as older craftsman chests. The deep drawers are well suited to lengthy tools; however, it would have been better if it was 18 inches deep rather than the nominal 16 inches which would better match with a bottom chest and an intermediate chest of the deeper dimension.

I've had this chest for almost 2 years and I love it.  I use it at home and it suits my needs perfectly.  I would consider different boxes for pro use.  The improvements I would suggest for this box are gas supports for the lid, and increase the depth to the full 18" to match cabinets.  Aside from that, great as is.

I was a very disappointed with the stability of the top cover lid. The cover lacks the firm and stiffness required to maintain an even closed fit. The lid bows when in the open position. The defect gives the product a low-quality finish and appearance. Poor craftmenship and material selection.

I'm very happy I bought the 5 drawer unit with ball bearings. The drawers are full width and depth. The other top chest units are shorter depth and or have multiple drawers across on the top rows, however it is actually more practical to have the larger drawers like this unit. There's more room and it's easier to find tools with this unit.

I keep this one on my truck and use it on the job site. Holds all the necessary tools with space to spare. Drawers slide smooth, top drawer locks separately so I could keep my private material safe while I work. Flat drawers great for pliers and wrenches. I've had it for a little over a year now. Got it on sale. Great deal. No regrets. Really good box. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I bought this one as a replacement for a Craftsman "Quiet Slide" and it has a much better design, but it only 98 days old and I will give another review in a year or so. I haven't been as pleased with the 5 drawer bottom cabinet though, because the bottom drawer is already dragging and I have no tools in it, only rags and safety equipment (safety glasses and respirator) Gave it 4 stars because it was bought as a 3 piece set and as I stated, the bottom section isn't what I thought I was paying for!

With minimal effort the drawers almost open by themselves, which is great compared to older tool chests or cheaper brands. I bought the combo and could not be happier. The bottom requires some assembly with respect to the wheels and handle if desired. The top is fully assembled; just remember to open the top before attempting to open the drawers. I don’t know if this is standard but the top drawers are secured when the top is closed if the drawers are pushed all the way in.
