Pro-quality top chest

This Limited Edition Craftsman Black/Platinum top chest is heavy-duty from top to bottom. The ball-bearing slides are smooth and rated for 75 lbs. The large 14.75" drawers use heavier gauge metal than found on lower priced top chests and come with liners. The self-closing feature required a firm push to close which jarred the contents. Removal of a couple of drawers allowed access to remove all the self-closing tabs...just remember to close the top lid before moving the unit otherwise the drawers will slide open. Unfortunately the matching bottom cabinet seems to be unavailable so I got mine sitting on top of a Gladiator rolling cabinet and the colors blend nicely.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice Chest. Heavy Construction

I ordered the first one a week ago and it came damaged. Looked like a forklift or hyster ran into it. I took it back to the store and an hour an half later got a refund. I ordered another while there and it came undamaged. What a waste of money on damaged merchandise.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

No self-closing drawers

I like Craftsman's tool cabinets and chests. Only problem is the drawers don't self close as advertised. I saw a tool chest or cabinet in ***** that had these drawers and really liked it. Since I needed another chest and saw this one I had to have it. I still like the chest but am disappointed about the drawers. I notified Sear customer service 2 weeks ago when I bought it but never heard back from them.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good for the money

Tool chest is good if you can get it for under 150. The self closing is a pain. Easily removed by pop off the plastic mechanism. Fit and finish is okay. The top 2 drawers do not close flush. Can't expect a chest this size with 75lbs drawers @ 150 to be any better. It will easily last you 20 years under light to medium usage for you DIY guys. Amateur mechnics on up need to look for something more robust.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Top Chest

This is a great tool chest.  Drawers open, close, and lock with ease even after being filled with tools.  Nothing to assemble.  Ready to use right out of the box.  They even provided the drawer liners.  The only (very minor) issue was that the drawer liners were for the bottom chest (which I also purchased as part of a sale package) so they were too deep for the top chest drawers.  They were easily trimmed to fit, but still should have been the correct liners for this item.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Best price vs value ratio on the market

Craftsman limited edition 26" HD top chest is the best product of it's kind taking price and value of product into account. You could break the bank for a top of the line craftsman pro item that runs up to and into the low thousands.Frankly,99% of the customers using it will not need that kind of fabrication. You could also save fifty to a  hundred dollars off the retail price of this unit and get a piece of junk that will not last and does nor have nearly the weight bearing capacity as this unit.In my opinion a waste of money. For a comparatively low price this clearance item really fits the bill.Highly recommended to purchase while inventory still exists!

The only drawback or criticism,if you can call it that,is the "limited edition" badging. It was/is a foolish afterthought.Better to leave it out than affix a sticker to an otherwise fine unit that reads "limited edition".It really cheapens the appearance unnecessarily. The descriptive text in the ad leads you to believe it would be an affixed emblem like the craftsman logo. But,if a corner had to be cut, better a cosmetic one than were it counts.performance.

I am using it for storage needs not even pertaining to hardware/tools and it is perfect for my needs.Think of all the storage possibilites this presents. It held everything I needed to have organized with room to spare!A real bargain that I know will last for many years without worry.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great addition to the garage or workshop

The Craftsman  5-drawer black/platinum 26in top chest has the 14 5/8in depth drawers rather than the typical 10 3/4in depth drawers which means more capacity for larger tools. The ball-bearing drawers are rated at up to 75lb each, glide smoothly and remain that way even with weight. The color scheme looks great while the Limited Edition stickers can be removed if necessary. Two annoying features are the self-locking drawers which require a bit more push to close but my older tool chests with similar self-locking mechanisms got better with tool weight + useage and the drawers handles are not recessed within the body of the top chest when closed. Looks great in the garage or workshop!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
