I loved this chest and the unit on casters that it sits on so much I ordered another. To put this into perspective, this chest is much heavier than anything Craftsman or Kendall make. It is in the boat with a snap-on chest. The drawers slide smoothly on roller bearings. The lock firmly locks everything in place with no give. I am SOLD on this brand. Buy it!

After getting used to the basic craftsman drawers the ball bearing tool chest is so much nicer. For me the heavier guage steel made no difference but the smooth operation is nice. Internal lock is also a plus with the ability to lock only the middle drawer is nice too. The only downside is the drawers have an initial snap to open or fully close. Hopefully this is something that just needs a beak in and will get smooth over time

Maybe I opened and closed the lid about 15 times and then the lock came apart and I had to just throw it back together. Anyone could easily break into one of these and steal my tools. You can just twist the lid a little and it pops open without a key. The drawers never close quite right and seem quite flimsy. Sears really needs to do something about their toolboxes because if you are in the field with your box, you expect the box to be sturdy enough to protect your thousands of dollars of tools that you invested in. ************** has better toolboxes.

The lock has never works smoothly. After 2 months of use the flip top hinge hyper-extended and broke while closing. After 6 months of use the lock broke. The doors are not smooth or sturdy and all the rivets from manufacturing show through the cheap paint which can be easily scratched off down to bare metal. Craftsman products used to be the best and now I can honestly say that I get better quality tools at the dollar store. I'm embarrassed that I used to recommend craftsman tools and products.
