I have almost every style of wrench sold in the Craftsman line except for these until now and am wondering why I did not purchase them sooner. I used to think these were a marketing gimmick to sell more wrenches but they are indispensable when you have a stubborn hard to remove nut that you can't afford to risk rounding off they corners with a 12 pt. These wrenches don't allow you many options to index the handle over the nut or bolt head since there are only 6 points but it will not slip if you can slip it on. I only wish Craftsman would make a double box end wrench set with each wrench being the same size on opposite ends but one end be a 12 pt and the opposite be a 6 pt. I don't mind adding tools to my roll-away's but with space being a premium I would prefer to minimize tool duplication whenever I can. Nevertheless I am glad I purchased these and highly recommend them if you already own a 12 pt set. Just be aware there are going to more situations that you cannot use these due to your inability to slip the box end over the nut due to an indexing problem in tight spots. One of those Laws of Physics things.
USA MADE 6 POINT WRENCHES. Get them while you can, sears no longer makes USA tools, once they are gone they will be gone forever. Nice set, and of course they are 6 point for those extra tough bolts.
For 1 in. and under as well as 19mm and under this set is quite complete. But spending this much money and having the wrenches just flopping around in a box is a bit disappointing. Just a simple rubber band around both standard and metric and this could be shipping in a box 80% smaller. I'm installing an engine now and thats why i got this kit and i'm glad i did. very useful. I also got the wrench sorting tray on this site and found it adequate for my purposes.
Made in USA. That has always made a difference. Like other reviewers, 6 point is always better and safer to use if possible, especially on rusty or hard to remove nuts and bolts. Although, like the others my set arrived loose in a small box and that box was also in a much bigger box, it did have peanuts in it. I also did notice some scratches on them but nothing serious. I will put more on them as time goes on.
This set arrived loose in an oversized box with no containers or padding for the wrenches; they were just loose in the box. This box was inside of a HUGE, well-padded box. It just seems very ironic. The 12mm wrench was missing but, after a call to the included toll-free number, I had a replacement on the way. It arrived about a week later in a padded envelope. So far, the quality seems to be just what you would expect from Craftsman tools.

I have had lots of tools over the years and finally decided to buy the Craftsman 28 piece 6 point Combination Metric and Standard wrenches so I could have one good, complete set of wrenches. Since I carry my tools around in a portable toolbox, I needed something that would organize my wrenches and let me know at a glance if anything was missing. I bought 2 of the wrench rolls, one for Standard and the other for Metric. These are a great, inexpensive, and practical solution. If you take your tools to different locations and want to make sure your wrenches are all present and accounted for before packing up, this product is for you.
I agree 100% with the gentleman from Florida. Nice set for the money, but they could have been packaged a little better. As I look them over, not to worry. If any are dinged bad enough, Sears will swap it out for a new one. Really though, for the money this is a decent 6 point set.
I ended up buying the separate 14pc SAE and Metric of these same wrenches. the wrenches are sweet. Nice clean 6-pt boxed end. The separate sets include a pouch to fit all the wrenches into and was useful for me. If you're putting these into a tool cabinet, useless. I agree with the other review about the shipping/packaging. The wrenches came in 2 boxes of 14 wrenches each with all the wrenches loose. The nylon pouch was just rolled up separately in the box. Other then the packaging for shipment. Nothing bad to saw. I ended up getting them on sale so the overall total was actually cheaper then getting this set. I got tired of 12-pt wrenches rounding out a fastener when you actually needed to put some muscle into loosing it. These should help stop that problem.
