Nice tool set
Great tool set. Comes with a good array of 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 6 and 12 pt sockets and drive tools. I particularly like the marked insert in the drawers for the tools. I would recommend this set to any weekend/shadetree mechanic. If you order them for direct shipment from sears.com, be prepared to wait up to 10 days for delivery "after" you get the "your order has shipped" notice.

Buyer Beware
I've been using Craftsman hand tools for many many years now and have literally spent thousands on them. Sadly, Craftsman tools are not the quality tools they once were. I bought this mechanics set at the end of 2011 thinking it was a great deal. I couldn't have been more wrong. You can easily see that they were made cheap and boxed cheap just to get 283 pieces to market. Well there is 283 pieces but many of those pieces are duplicates and hex keys. By far the worst feature about this set for me besides the poor quality of the tools are the drawers and the cheap plastic molds that the tools slide around on. I can't count how many times I've had to dig my tools out from the bottom of the box with an extension magnet to retrieve the sockets that fell down (the drawers do not pull out completely). Craftsman has really fell behind the pack of great tool makers and quality products. Until they roar back with quality, I've chosen to take my money and business elsewhere...snap-on tools.

Tool Set

The tools were as expected, great! The box was a little light weight and drawers a little shallow for my taste. If ip had it to do overi would order tool set without the box.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Starter set.

I like it...Great for the money. Only things I don't like are that there is no tray for the wrenches and screw drivers and alan wrenches...and also that the 1/2 drive sockets only come in 12 point. But..if ya need the basic stuff...it'll be good quality and will do most jobs.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Great Wrench Box

This is the real McCoy. It is Craftsmen at its best. It has every size and more. I was not missing a single item when I opened the packs they were all there. The tool box could have been a little stronger....but for the price it was a great deal. The sockets and ratchets were what this tool kit is about. The wrenches is more of a starter kit. I highly recommend this for anyone needing a tool box with all the sockets and ratchets.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Mechanic Tool Set

This is fine for an amateur mechanic. Tools are not top quality. Also, when my husband opened this, there were 2 items that were damaged. I returned them to the store and they replaced them no questions asked. Sears is GREAT about that!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good starter set

This is a good starter set, with an excellent selection of tools, especially for the price. Sure, the tool count is padded by near-duplicates of some tools (I.e. Long and short hex keys), but when you just look at the sockets themselves, this is a great deal.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great value

First off I must say that I am a Craftsman diehard. I have a Craftsman welder that belonged to my great grandfather that I am the fourth generation to weld with and it still performs perfectly. (Just a little bigger than the modern ones). I recently purchase this set and was overall happy with it. I think it is a great value, however I think the quality of the tools has dropped a notch in the last few years, but they still have the lifetime warranty so I guess your covered. All parts were I my set however one socket wasn't labeled- I called and they shipped me out a new one immediately. Only complaint I would have is that the 8,10,11mm wrenches are extreme my small as well as th 7/16 and 3/8. They were what I call the baby wrenches or the short thin ones. I just bought replacements for those. Otherwise very happy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
