The fit, finish and look of this ratchet is top notch. It has a great solid feel in the hand. Unfortunately, the ratchet mechanism doesn't live up to expectations. The socket attachment point (where you put the socket) is wobbly. This doesn't inspire confidence when your pulling hard on it. As well, as quite a few others have mentioned, there just aren't enough teeth in the head. This means it requires a broader swing arc to engage each "click". Given the handle length, it really should have more teeth so that you can work in tight areas where swing length is limited but not depth, e.g. cranking on a sway bar end link in between the fender and engine.
However, for the casual user, this would be a fine server.

Bought this to go with the three piece set, those are USA, this is Taiwan, but I can't really see any difference, made just as well, time will tell durability wise I suppose, but seems good
This product is amazing! I'm so glad sears has it and also the price was great. You can not beat the price for a amazing tool like this! I love using it and I'm proud to use it. I've been telling all of my friends to go to sears if they one because I'm so satisfied with it! I'm glad I bought it at Sears and it's a great product that will not let me down. Sears always have the best tools and I will return again to purchase more in the future!

I have almost a dozen ratchets and breaker bars of various lengths and drive sizes, most of them CRAFTSMAN. This CRAFTSMAN fully polished, long handle 3/8? drive ratchet I purchased a few weeks ago has already become my favorite. The 3/8? drive is the drive size I most commonly use. The extra length gives me extra leverage which means less fatigue at the end of the day. The full polish makes cleaning up grease and grime a breeze. The handle is very comfortable. The easy to use thumb directional switch is easy to reach, easy to use with your thumb and it?s solid. The tool is made well, priced right and guaranteed forever, like all SEARS CRAFTSMAN tools. How can you go wrong? Would I recommend this tool to a friend? Absolutely.
Good Item for those hard to reach places in your vehicle where things are really cramped. It worked perfectly on my serpentine belt pulleys when a regular ratchet was not long enough and used this longer one so I didnt have to take my fan cover off. It saved me alot of time.

This is a really nice addition to the Craftsman line. The long handle allows you to get much more leverage compared to the standard ratchet or getting a 1/2" drive ratchet. Sure, there are better ratchets like this out there, for example, the Snap-On FL80 which I also own, but not everyone wants to spend over $100 on a ratchet. This Craftsman is very good, but some may complain about the lack of teeth in the head. I do agree that it is a problem. 36 teeth isn't enough by standards, but for most people, including myself, it gets the job done just fine. I use the Snap-On (80 tooth) for the really tight jobs where you need finer gears for less swing, but I now find myself using the Craftsman more. As far as engagement or slippage under load, I can't say I've experienced any problems. I'm going to assume if it slips, you are applying too much torque, and should be using a 1/2". If anything I can complain about is that Craftsman is migrating to Taiwan and China, rather that the USA. Am I disapointed? Yes. Does it bother me? Not too much. The warranty is still the "Forever Warranty" and the build quality appears to be the same. So as long as I have a Forever Warranty, I don't care too much. Long term durability it to be determined though. *On a side note, I have 100% working Craftsman tools from the 20's and 30's yet. Hopefully these "new" ones last just as long."

Yes I am strong, but I should not have been able to break this ratchet by hand power only. The finish is pretty but that is where the quality STOPS. Had to use a 20 year old S-K tools ratchet to finish the job.
