Nice handle, lackluster ratcheting mechanism.

This ratchet has a nice polish. It is well made, and the handle is long which gives you plenty of leverage.

The ratcheting mechanism, however, is not terribly smooth, and has very few teeth. I believe the ratcheting mechanism is the same as the Craftsman base-model ratchets.

I would reccomend the Craftsman thin-profile ratchets over these for only a few dollars more.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Craftsman polished ratchet is comfortable to use.

I received this Craftsman polished ratchet as a gift.  This model is a round handle versus the common rectangular handles.  The round handle is much more comfortable to use.  I can apply alot more force before needing gloves.  The polished finish is very high quality and it's great looking tool.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Item works as it should.

This item works as it should, the little switch is easy to flip in order to change directions. The quick release button is also great for making sure that the socket won't accidentally fall out off the ratchet itself. This is a great item to have along with your set of sockets by craftsman. The 1/2" also works wonderfully.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Outstanding

Outstanding finish and tooling on these ratchets. The properly designed long and round handle perfectly suits the professional environment for high frequency, extended use and higher torque applications. These are NOT fine tooth design. The traditional 36 tooth design adds more surface area for engagement of the gears dramatically increasing the strength and capability of the ratchet. Fine tooth ratchets have their place in any professional's toolbox and may even work better for the weekend warrior, but a comfortable and traditional high strength ratchet is greatly appreciated by the seasoned. The larger gear teeth and ratcheting action may remind some of their grandpa's ratchets, but this old school design is engineered like this for the strength/durability reasons explained above. In my humble opinion they easily rival the competition at a fraction of the price and with the benefit of the useable quick release function. The one thing (albeit minor) that I would wish for is a metal direction change switch. I've never had a problem with the switch that is installed, it operates easily and smoothly, I guess it just seems out of place on a ratchet so finely finished and tooled. I gladly would pay the extra dollar or two in manufacturing cost to have metal versus the installed professional/ ballistic grade plastic switch.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Much better than the one coming with the tool set

This grip is really good. Consequently, it gives you more torque. Just like other Craftsman products, the quality is amazing.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

GREAT TOOL -- GREAT PRICE

Don't waste your money on the tool truck --- BUY THIS INSTEAD!!! Our tool guy was trying to sell me a lower grade quality for DOUBLE what I paid for this rachet. I am very happy with this product especially with the low sweep to it (maybe 5 deg. the most). Highly Recommended!!!!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
